I never liked it much when I was young, but, everyone had it then. Everyone. Now I wouldn't have a clue where to get it. I'd like to try it again to see if it helps with pain. Nothing else seems to.

I think if people want to smoke it for medical reasons or just to feel good. Let them do it. They say its a gateway drug. But I think it depends on your actions and will power.

Canada doesn't sweat individual weed users. Jail and/or prison is for the grow-op owners. Medicinal weed is available here for pain management and those who are gravely ill and lack any kind of appetite to be able to eat.
I don't use it but I feel the negative press regarding marijuana use is ridiculous. It's less troublesome than alcohol use and/or abuse. Have you ever heard of a violent bar room brawl incited by weed users? Domestic violence incidents resulting from maniacal people high on weed?
Gateway drug? That gateway exists for people who find a way to use it regardless of what mind altering route they take.
Fear is what motivates the people who make and/or lobby for the legislation in place right now. Fear and personal agendas which have nothing to do with ensuring citizens are 'safe'.
But I'm a cynic.
I say let manufacturers package it, sell it. Even the little guys. Even make it into ciggy types, ready to light up. If ppl want it, they get it somewhere anyways, why not tax it and then benefit more ppl with that? The tax on it would be a crazy money maker for the country, plus it would keep tons of pot "criminals" out of the jails, saving even more tax dollars. I think Bill Clinton would get behind this, secretly! LOL!!! Hell, GW even admitted to using the stuff. Everyone alive now thats still of working age and viable tax payers has already been there-done that anyways. Even elected officials, they are from that era, most of them. They have tried it, even if they lie & say they never did. Hell, who didn't? I did & I liked it. Then I had a bad one, one time & was scared after that. So I didn't do it as much. I didnt do anything after high school anyways. But I say let ppl have it. If George Washington & his colleagues used it, then so should we be able to! If someone drives while under the influence & gets stopped, they should be fined if it's over a specifici limit, just like drinking. Which BTW is far more dangerous substance. How many ppl go out & do anything when they are high? They stay home chillin' & eat or hit the grocery store & binge out! They are way too mellow to hurt anybody or care about hurting anybody. So many ppl are selling this sh**, they need to tax it and stop poking everyone in jail for it, just make them pay a sales tax. DUH!

I could go into detail about the many benefits I have noticed from organically grown, quality seeds and lots of love invested to harvest top quality weed.
Hash, hemp and a genuine affection towards fellow man are the real by-products.
When I returned from overseas
I smoked every day for almost a year. If I didn't smoke; car doors would make me jump up and investigate, I would not get hungry at all, and my mood swings were off the charts.
Legalize it and tax it already.

Well, my pain is intense but, weird. Brain diseases cause the oddest most unbearable pain, it's not like any pain I can describe and it's difficult to live with and manage. I doubt weed would help, but, I'd like to try it. I think the war on weed is so stupid and out of hand and I'm sick of seeing weed smokers and growers get a longer sentance than child killers..and it happens all the time.

Think of how many now unemployed persons would suddenly have a good paying jobs? Factories would go up and deliveries would get made, gas would be purchased to run the trucks. Utilities would be used for the factories. Or just the guy at home in his house, he can then use his hi utilities as a tax deduction and then pay his sales tax. And he would stay out of jail and not be tax burden in jail, he would be a working, tax paying citzen and possibly have employees. All the tax dollars should all go to schools and free schoolbooks & free education for legal american citizens. And medical care for those that cannot afford it. There would be plenty to go around.

I believe you Pat. When my dad had his brain aneurysm he asked me to punch him in the nose to relief the pain and pressure. Two seconds later he collapsed on the floor with a stroke. I never forgot what he said about the pain though.
I don't know if marijuana would help your kind of pain. You probably need a mostly Indica strain to help with that.
Sativas are more uplifting.

Jar, I'm sorry about your dad. Yeah, it's the pressure. In my eyes, face, neck. It's like you fear an explosion any second. Strokes are awful, you can't explain how they feel, but, it's awful.
Also, I don't know much about strains. We have skunk here, we're famous for it. I remember some kick ass contact highs, the stuff is so powerful.
Skunk is a very good strain--get an 8th and try some, he,he. Make some Rice Krispy treats first though.

the first 2 presidents grew pot.. i say replace tobacco with marijuana and make it a cash crop. There's nothing medically wrong with it and nobody has ever died. Everyone in my town smokes - all us kids stole it from our parents - no need to find a drug dealer, lmao!

I live in one of those 13 states. This town has exploded with "herbal wellness" shops and by god if someone will lend me $15k we can go into business and make a buttload of $$$$$$. I've grown some pretty ass kickin weed in my life. It's still a federal offense but if you are quite about it all is cool. Some idiot grower in Denver let one of the news stations in to his operation and do a story and the feds busted him.It'll be interesting to see how that plays out.

my sister in law was dying from ovarian cancer back in the late 90's. She was 47. The Dr prescribed "Marinol" (marjiuana tablets) for her, very expensive tablets($14 each) and almost no pharmacy carries them. Indiana has not legalized pot, I dont even think for medical use. She had to have her grown son bring her the occasional joint. She was dying and needed something. It grows on the earth, it was sent here for a purpose, maybe that purpose has been found?

yep, Jar...I was young tho, 16. Maybe it was really strong or something. It was bad. I was scared I was gonna die! So dumb! It didnt stop me. I did it again, but not much and then I did finally stop all that. I do not judge anyone that does it tho, unless they are a dumbass. And pot only accentuates that quality, it doesnt cause it.

One day I came home from work. My houseplants were all sitting in the sun, watered & loved, right? NO! I figured out my husband had planted some seeds in amongst them! One of them was one of those plastic hothouse planters you used to see in the 70's. That stuff shot up 6" overnight! But, it pissed me off!! LOL!!! He didn't really care about my plants :( LOL!!!

Although I don't smoke anymore, believe it or not it intensifies my pain, I firmly believe that pot should be legalized. It is such a better choice than alcohol, which destroys people, be it families, your health or your mind. Alcohol, when abused, is a bad, bad drug.
I have never, ever smoked, or done any other "illicit" type drugs. I have been passed a joint at a party, and I looked at that butt-ugly little cigarette that everyone had been sucking on, and just said no way, and passed it on.
That said, I'm sitting here thinking about it, and I'm really not against legalizing it. It is legal for medical use here in Oregon, I think. I think it should be further explored for medical use, and decriminalized.
I don't think I would use it unless I had cancer, etc. and then I would have to try it and see how it feels to me.
I don't see how it can be any worse than alcohol and cigarettes. I really do believe that all the cures for all the diseases we can come down with, are put here on earth for us to find.

I have been a stoner from WAY back. Hubs fell in love with me when he found out i was holding. LOL Not really but it was one of the reasons.
I stopped using it on the regular when i had my kids. But when I get sick or a friend of hubs gets hold of some good shit..I will roll it up.

Go for it Pat! It very well might help you. As someone else pointed out, it doesn't work for everyone's pain but it does for lots of people. It's worth a try.
But maybe...don't let your mom know about it. She might be crazy enough to call the cops on you or something, I dunno. Or just be a buzz-killer.
Just like everything, moderate use is the key - too much and it can sap your motivation and make you sleepy or feel tired. You can't overdose and no one has ever died from weed.
Smoking it isn't good for your lungs of course but you can use a vapourizer if you want. Google it if interested.

I used to be a regular smoker, but I recently had my first child, so I don't anymore. But I'll tell ya, I met some wonderful friends and have been able to stay sane through the challenges that life has brought because of it.
