Wal-Mart said Wednesday it is pulling an entire line of Miley Cyrus-brand necklaces and bracelets from its shelves after tests performed for The Associated Press found the jewelry contained high levels of the toxic metal cadmium.*
We've been through this before and I've blogged about it before, you cannot buy kids jewelry anymore because it's made in China and contains Cadmium. Cadmium causes liver failure..period. I had one hell of a time finding presents for Gabe and Lissa yesterday, because every single thing in the toy departments was made in China. How long are we going to let them do this to our children??

this time i blame walmart---well of course china too....but walmart says this wasn't for CHILDREN it was for adults----oh so it's OKAY?!?!??!?!
also, i just read an article where the AP went into walmart stores and discovered they had changed the packaging on the jewelry to say for children over 14 and older!!! prior to the beginning of the year it didn't say that....

OMG my friend went to walmart this past weekend and bought some miley cyrus jewelry crap for a project. She told me it was all on clearance! They were trying to empty the shelf b4 they "pulled" it. BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!

Iv'e been anti WalMart for years. They have ruined the economy of this town. But, a couple of years ago a friend of mine talked me into buying a flat screen that they had on sale. A few months ago it died and it was out of warranty. The guy I live with is and electrical engineer and cracked that TV open to have a look. What he found was a motherboard that had been repaired. In essencence I bought a used TV. I shoulda stuck with my original plan of the pawn shop.

if it were new. Greedy grubs really selling
every piece if cheap junk made in china &
imported over to the USA for sale as safe
goods on the duped consumers. I haven't
set foot into Wallys world since it arrived in
Canada just over a decade ago.
Sam Walton was a creepy dictator who would
feed his staff with propaganda mini meetings
every morning like a cult. They continue the
practise to this day as a team spirit type of
commradery it's just another way of nickel &
diming their way to the top. When they arrived
they put so many small family shoppes out of
business. They call it progress I don't know why ?
SAMs warehouse came next and we lost big
time to the big box monsters. It's disgusting !
I have one lil book store that will get any thing
I ask for. The theatre district and performing arts
are still intact and healthy but for how much longer.
Toronto is a bohemians paridise for fairtrade
goods and services. Pay what you can still
abounds in the entertainment district. The day
will come when all this progress will consume
our paradise. I shudder to think forward. Kiki :/
