Happy Birthday, Alissa!!!!

Lissa is six years old today. Happy Birthday, sweet girl. It was just a few years ago when the doctors told us not to expect her to reach six and if she did she would never ride a bike or a pony and never play sports or dance. Ha. She dances all the time and she joined the T-ball team this year. She has a brand new bike with no training wheels and skinned up knees. I'm going to get her on a pony this Summer and that's a promise. Whatever that part of her brain they took out was, it must have controlled the part that says you can't do stuff. Because she does everything and very well too. And she's smarter than the rest of this family put together. I wish her dad could see her now. He'd be so proud of her.

We had our little party already, just the two of us. We had a Hollywood Party and pretend invited Miley. A framed copy of that photo was her favorite present...so far.

Awww, thanks.

I learned to play The Climb as a surprise and she sang along. She loved it and said "OMG, grandma, you can play, why didn't you tell me???" And I was like, you didn't ask. Fly On The Wall is next. LOL.

Happy Birthday Lissa!! I think that surprising her with your song was a great present :) Nothing better than when children still look at you like you are the best thing since sliced bread...LOL

As for you, troll, shame on you. She's a child. You disgust me.

I don't even have to say how low a troll is to ruin a child's birthday post.

She's lucky to have you. My Mom's relationship to my daughter is very special also.

Happy Birthday Lissa.

No, you really don't. I usually feel that ignoring them is the best course of action, but in this case, I really could not.

Angie, that troll would be allowed to speak, but, it uses a form of the name Tia, which I won't allow. AND I don't let anyone insult kids on here. Troll is just really ignorant.

I hate doctors in these situations. They are ALWAYS so wrong. What's wrong with a little hope or can we learn to make the best of it?

Happy B-day Lissa - show them all!

She is so adorable and wow, not having read her history, it sounds like she has beaten the odds for sure.

Happy Birthday!!

And her dad can see her now :)

Shame on those Dr.'s for telling you guys that she wouldn't be able to do those things. Way to show them, Lissa!!

It's good to be 6...it's even better to be 6 and have a pony.

Pat, you are such a nice Grandma
to Lissa. She is lucky to have you.

Pat, if you don't mind, again since I'm the 'newbie' I'm unaware of what type of diagnosis Lissa was given and for what? Do you mind sharing that?

What a beautiful little girl she is! I am so happy to hear that she is beating all the odds, and making mincemeat of those doctors' opinions. They really should know better than to make such predictions.
I'm sure her daddy is watching her and very proud of her intelligence, wit and beauty.
Hope you had a great day, Lissa, and that you have a very long, happy and healthy life. You are very lucky to have Pat as your Grandma.

Trust me, it is a long and boring story.

The kid aint cute at all. She is white trash, on the road to skankville, ugly kid.

I prefer Mongrel as well
