One mother was calm enought to take a picture of the 13 foot shark that came swimming through a group of tourists on a British beach. OMG. Turned out to be a giant Basking shark which is harmless and only eats plankton. I doubt I would have been questioning it's species..I would have been running as fast as my knobby knees would go, with a kid under each arm and a load in my pants.

I agree with Kiki. That's a pretty big shark. Its better to be safe than sorry. I probably would be off the beach to.
That's why I don't get in the water!!

Gawd, since my cables out been watching DVD's. Watched Jaws last night & finished it this morning before work. I love that movie but this one is real and I would not trust it to not harm me. Even a nudge from him would kill you or at least displace your inner organs!!

Jaws rocks. I love that movie.
And just when I was ready to go back into the water!
I used to occasionally go out in the ocean, but only go knee deep or so for the last few years. Too much can go wrong, and a shark is only one of those things.
I heard on some kind of Animal Planet thing or other, that the occasional shark swims up rivers. Somewhere up in Ohio or thereabouts is the furthest inland they found a bull shark, years ago, if I remember right. It's just not worth the risk. Chances are that you will be fine in the water, but when things go wrong, they go way wrong.
It is interesting that the picture was taken at a British beach. I don't really think of sharks there, but I guess they are everywhere.
