DEAR ABBY: I am in my 40s and have never lost anyone close to me. Unfortunately, my darling mother-in-law has terminal cancer. I am now preoccupied that people's spirits are near us after they die.
Please don't laugh, but it gives me the creeps. I don't want to think my mother-in-law will watch me making love with my husband, that my father will watch me in the bathroom, or that my mother will be critical of my spending more time with my kids than cleaning the house as she did.

DEAR SPOOKED: Calm down. The departed sometimes "visit" those with whom their souls were intertwined, but usually it's to offer strength, solace and reassurance during difficult times. If your mother-in-law's spirit visits you while you're intimate with her son, it will be only to wish you and her son many more years of closeness and happiness in your marriage.
As to your parents, when they travel to the hereafter, I am sure they'll have more pleasant things with which to occupy their time than spying on you. So hold a good thought and quit worrying.

That cracked me up, but, I beg to differ with Abby this time. I think if a dead person was a nosey obsessive bathroom peeping creep in real life, they most certainly can continue to spy on you. And some of them do. It's not all that common, but, it happens. Have you ever walked into a bathroom and you just felt like someone was in there..every time? That's because they are.

i had a perfect circle of light in my bedroom the other night....about 4' across...i looked outside and there was no vehicle creating this light on the ceiling....i just had a feeling it was someone....i stared at it a few minutes and then said "i can't recognize you in this form but i hope you're doing well" and then it just disappeared!
I wonder if it was your neighbor saying hi?
i dunno....i have seen her---in human form---several times....like i told you she smiled and waved at me one time....
i heard her call my name one evening when i was lounging in front of the puter....i just heard her voice say "tia"....i went to my bedroom window and i saw her son trying to play with other kids and they were ignoring him....even though i felt like crap that night, i went outside to plant some flowers in pots....i didn't call over to him, but after a minute he saw me and came over and asked if he could help....of course i let him.....
why she'd be in a circle of light form i dunno.....but it was someone.....maybe they'll come back at a more respectable hour in a human form!
I'm curious about two things. Why would she worry about the MIL watching her son having sex and her dad watching her in the shower? Were these people inclined to do this in life? If so, they were weird people!
Tia, that was a nice thing to do for the boy. You do have a big heart!
If you read a few near-death experiences others have had you will quickly see that those on the other side are busy with their lives, and although they care for those on this side, they don't follow them around needlessly.

Kathi, yep, that's true..most of the time. I was talking about the weird ones. They exist too.
That sounds interesting, Kathy and Pat, but I have never heard anything about what souls are busy with on the other side. What are you referring to?
Miss Tia, that was a very kind thing you did for that boy, especially when you weren't feeling well.
Christina - I have never read even one near death experience where folks on the other side were sitting around playing harps. lol They are happy and busy, learning and progressing at their own pace and just being part of society I guess. It appears that life goes on after this one is over. Nice thought!
