Sarah Palin was a knee-jerk reaction by the GOP to counter Hillary voters not voting for Obama. She's a person who would have otherwise never been considered as a viable candidate.
Now she's no different from the former Survivor and other reality TV contestants that make money by making appearances.
I'd like to go fishing with the Palins, maybe snow machining with Todd-(he's an endurance race winner, so we'll get along)-
The fact that she was picked is evidence to me that we the people (cue Ray Stevens)-are the last thing on their minds.

I think our entire night shift (on my unit) at the hospital idolizes the nitwit. I don't have a single clue what they see in her. If you listen to her at all, you know that she doesn't have a lot of neurons firing at any one given time. Sometimes the stupidity of many Americans just astounds me. I'm sure she will run for office, it seems to be the only thing she knows how to do. And she will screw up terribly on the campaign trail, and try to take as much swag as possible, and the moronic masses will consider her "spunky" and a "maverick". And so America makes one more grand swirl before totally flushing down the bowl.
I think she may actually be dumber than George W. Bush, and I never thought I would say that about any politician.
Even more screwed up is the fact that her "advisors" probably watched her rehearse and re-read that speech and everyone around just nodded.
Palin....Obama....Really whats the difference? Repubs...democ....Nothing different. Lots of promises. Lots of lies. Lots of blaming the other side. People vote for the same crap every four years. I am tired of it.

i agree that personal attacks against her family are off limits; with any public figure's children. my opinion.
But there must have been a real cheap and ugly reason for picking Michael Steele as GOP chair, and Sarah Palin as a VP candidate. It wasn't political savvy, it wasn't a firm grip on foreign policy, or even seniority and clout. it was a show to try to lure voters under the tent. Despicable and ill-intentioned.
I agree with Bill the Prison guard's point about politics being a big game to politicians. And i also belive that George W Bush is not the dummy that media make him out to be.

My opinion is that any politician that votes for war should go along with the troops and live in the rear with the gear. Vote and communicate with your constituents through skype.
That would motivate them to get it over with as soon as possible. term limits would be nice, and political action money should be taxed and remain in the coffers of the district; it's not your fucking personal slushfund, Honorable Mr./Mrs. Scumbag Parasite politician.
