Anyone know?

MuserMommyinPA also sent me pic of her flowers, which are so nice. I recognized all of them, but, this bush. It looks like a Hydrangea, but, not quite. I actually went out and looked at my blue Hydrangea, which is blooming and this one is different. The leaves look like variegated Dogwood. Anyone know what this is? What ever it is, I wish it was in my yard! You can click it to make it bigger.

i wonder if snowballs can come up in different colors based on the acid/alkaline in the soil like hydrangeas can have different colors....my neighbor who passed away has a snowball bush and this year the flowers are blue!

those flowers remind me of my spierea plant (escuse the spelling). I live in pa as well and they are very popular around here.

Whatever it is, it is very pretty. Wished I had them in my yard.

I thought Spierea too, but, it's blue. I have pink ones though. Snowball is a good guess, I wonder if they come in blue?

i dunno about blue snowballs, but like i said i know my neighbors are blue this year....i know hydrangeas can change colors, so i don't see why snowballs can't....

ROFL

Blue (snow)balls. hehehe

I have a hydrangea that is purple and one that is pinkish. I think I read somewhere that you can change the ph to change the color.

Thanks everyone for the guesses. The plant was here 8 years ago when we moved in. Over the years I have cut it back pretty good and it just seems to get bigger and bigger. I have always thought it was a hydrangea and never gave it more thought. I knew with everyone's knowledge here, I would get great info.

LOL @ me. I finally typed in "Variegated Hydrangea" and got that bush. That's exactly what it is. I'd never seen one.

The easiest way to change your hydrangea's color is to add organic sulfur to the soil to lower the PH. This will make the soil more acidic. Home Depot carries small bags of organic sulfur.

I have so much harvesting to do, but it's so hot and humid here I still cannot breathe when I walk outside.
I'm having a hard enough time breathing inside.

It's suppose to be like this all week. bLeH.

I think this might be a Spirea bush.
There are quite a few of them here in New England.

Thanks for the confirmation Pat. I actually started wondering after I was asked by a Mormon couple canvassing our neighborhood. When I told them I wasn't sure, the guy said maybe I had a rare plant worth a lot of money! I laughed and said yeah maybe I will retire after I sell it!

It's rare here, I've never seen one. It's gorgeous.

Peg, I hope you feel better soon.

That is a beautiful plant. I have been wanting hydrangeas forever. Maybe this is the year I'll plant some.
Hope you feel better, Peg.
