And by "people", they mean women. Men are not allowed in The Rage Cage. The women interviewed said they were not protesting men or mad at men..they listed job hunting and the economy as top reasons for paying to smach second hand furniture.

Well, what else are they supposed to say? I know nothing about the current generation of young Chinese women except what I read in the media, but, I love reading translated books written by Chinese women of my generation. And the impression I'm left with is that they don't know how to be mad. They have the best poker faces on Earth and keep it all inside. They are, however, masters of revenge. Thier calm is like an eggshell over a volcano. Maybe this generation needs a rage cage. Or maybe it's just another silly fad.

Sometimes smashing stuff can be quite cathartic. I have been accused of being too reserved. (have yet to meet these accusers face to face). Several years after the Ex moved out, I found one of his large ceramic pots hiding in the garage. This was a much loved three foot tall college pottery project. ... well if you treasured it so much, why didn't you take it with you? Me, having a bitchy day, decided to do a little garage cleaning. Got a big ole trash bag and a hammer. Dayum, was that fun.
Pat ~ got your email. Thanks for the fwd service ;)
Linda ~ sent you an email.
Damn Blogger has been randomly deleting my posts all morning. grrrrrr
You're welcome. Sorry it took so long, I kept waiting for one from Linda with an ok. It went to spam. And the spam went to the box. Duh. I found it.
I also managed to send myself an email while I was trying to send you one. Not one of my finer moments.
Pat, which books would you recommend by Chinese women? I'd like to read some since I read The Joy Luck club and was fascinated by it.
Try American Knees, it's a novel written by Shawn Wong, it's a response to Amy Tan's work. I love Amy Tan and have read everything she's written.
Most of the books I read come into the shop and the ones I like aren't "sellable". I have a hard time remembering names since I read constantly and put them back on the shelves. I liked Fifth Chinese Daughter. Had to look up the author, her name is Jade Snow Wong. There's more, but, I have to think about it. Sorry.
Pat ~ no problem on the time. We just wanted to connect off blog. Thanks again, appreciate it :)
The kitchen gods wife by Amy Tan is very funny.
My comment are not showing up today :( I do
hope that this one goes through.

Valentines day over there is completely different than America's. Usually Females are the ones who buy the gifts and candy to the men. The women don't get anything until the next day.
I still would love to go to some place like the rage cage. It would be like office space. I would be able to take so much aggression out.
Take a ceramics class, a real one. We used to smash tons of it after the semester was over. And grind it up.
Ex minored in Art in college. Spent many hours in the pot shop. Throwing and smoking ;)
I really thought about dumping all the broken pieces on his driveway...
gawd, sometimes just wanting to throw a dish against the wall is too hard to resist. But I never do, i sit & think...who is going to clean it up after? That would be me! I would love to do this. It seems crazy, but if we lived in China, as women, we would be crazy too and would love to HIT something. Fun-Fun
