Thanks DD and Kiki. The Brig is beautiful. She won't be back here until the end of the summer. She'll be bringing some of the other tall ships w/ her. State of PA cut her funding, so she goes on Lake tours to make $$. Called a friend in Ohio last night (who use to work on the Niagara committee), she's now planning some vacation days for when the Brig comes home. The Tall Ships haven't been here since the mid 90's. Can't wait.
CJ, when they had the grand opening of the maritime musuem my in-laws were visiting us in Erie. I am guessing it had to be 1999. They opened the ship for tours. We were inside the crew quarters and all over that ship. It was so awesome and completely by accident. The musuem was also free IIRC. I think they also had reenactments going on. So interesting. Now I only see it on the back of license plates!
MuserMommy ~ Funny thing about those license plates, they haven't made them in years. The state finally realized they are impossible to see from a distance. Not good when a cop is trying to read the license.
Back in the late 90's I took the kids to my sister's in TN. Went hiking in the Smokies, then stopped in Gatlinburg to do some shopping. Got out of the car and two cars over, there was a Niagara license plate. For two hours the kids were doing head spinning looking for someone they knew.

Beautiful. Reminds me of the Charles Morgan here in Mystic, CT.
I have to travel a bit to get to the water. I wish I could have it right out my window.
Thanks for sharing!
