@ 4 cm, doc just "accidentally" broke my water when she was checking, so things should move along now. She wants a cm an hour at least.

It's like we're all there. Oh, man. Are you gonna get the epidural? Who's watching Sam?
I'm waiting until I absolutely need the epidural to get it. I didn't get it until about 5-10 mins before I delivered last time.
Sam is at home with my mom, I miss her terribly! They won't let visitors in L&D, so I can't see her until baby is born.
Contractions are definitely starting to get more intense now, about every 2 mins.
I'm sooooo hungry! Come on baby, mama needs to eat!
The last minutes, really??? I didn't even know it was an option then. Child birth changes all the time. OH my, you have to be close..every two min!??

I'm still here. Still pregnant.
Just had the epidural, couldn't take it anymore. I was sobbing and shaking from the pain and from trying to decide if it was time or not. So many possible complications w/ epis. Kind of feel like a wimp because I couldn't last longer. Now I'm completely relaxed ... And itchy! My epi was so late last time I didn't have a chance to experience the super fun side effects. I'm a little loopy and groggy now too.
as I told the OB/GYN at my first delvery, "I'm here for the meds, then the baby can take as long as it wants to make an appearance".
I admit, I'm a wuss!
@ 8 cm ... Doc says baby should be here by 6. And she promised me dinner!
This is crazy and I love all the updates, Biz! Maybe now that you are more relaxed, you can get some rest and things will move on nicely.

I left my lap top at home so tomorrow when my mom brings it up I will send Pat some real pics from the camera, I was having a hard time w/ my phone because of the flash.
Becca just went to the nursery for a bath etc, Ken just ran to get me some food. I honestly still can't believe what an incredibly easy labor it was, mostly bc of the early epidural. She outdid her sister by an ounce, but we had a feeling that would be the case.
Rebecca was just a name we came across and like, Dean is after my Uncle who passed a few years ago - because I have a feeling I'm never going to have a boy (I think we're done!).
My mom & Sam just came up for a min - visiting hrs were over @ 8. Sam was a little freaked out by me w/ the iv & hospital bed, but she checked out her sister a little. It's def going to be a big adjustment!

my neighbor when she had her 2nd child she made sure to include her son in everything and explain everything to him about what she was doing and why.....she also asked people who got her baby gifts to include a little something for her son so he wouldn't feel left out....
she always asked for his help with stuff, just little things like 'can you give me the babywipes please' and praised him for being such a help and big brother....he was 5 at the time i so he was older than yours, but i think the same rationale could apply.....just include her in things as much as possible and even though you'll be exhausted, make time one on one just for her....

What boggles my mind is that you were able to continue updating your tweets and keeping us posted as you progressed into labor!!! And THEN were able to add a comment to this post!!
When I gave birth to my first born who came in at 9 pounds 6 oz. I was too busy throwing up and getting angry at my husband who kept on saying "good job, you're doing great" when I was obviously not!, and frustrated at the nurses who kept probing and pushing my stomach with monitors.
Evidently, I am not a good patient...

Miss Tia has it exactly right. When there is an older sibling, no matter the age, I always tell family to make time for the older child that is theirs alone, and to have that child help out in any small way they can, to help make the baby theirs, too. It's still an adjustment, but it helps.
Epidurals are great, aren't they? I'm glad you were able to enjoy it this time.
I am surprised that your hospital didn't allow your little one to visit, and that there are such early visiting hours, but I guess each hospital has their own ways. We have had a number of small children present throughout labor and delivery. It depends on how well the child is educated about birth, (I have the mental image of a four-year-old boy, sitting on the couch through delivery, with his little hands in his jeans pockets, grinning from ear-to-ear from some years ago) and the maturity level and comfort of the child. It's also important to have a family member with that child, who can leave with him or her if they get uncomfortable. I'm glad your little girl was able to come and visit, though.
