The Summerwind, a yacht owned by Billionaire Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Jeff Greene dropped anchor on an endangered coral reef in coast of Belize five years ago. The anchor cut a path of damage through the reef 50 foot wide and 200 feet long. Despite eyewitness accounts, Greene's reps are saying the incident didn't happen. Belize says he owes $1.87 million in fines. Check it out,
here. The Summerwind (SummerFart) costs $100,000 just to fill up the fuel tank and it has sported celebrity guests including Lindsay Lohan. Fuck the environment..Party!!!

bet al gore is a frequent guest too!
It just reminded me how out of touch some people are. Did you see the vacation pics of Paris Hilton and her friends on a yacht spraying champagne at each other? That champagne costs more than some people make in a week. It kind of pissed me off.
My niece worked on a boat like that for a few years. She was dating the captain. She worked her a** off, no days off. Only after they cleaned the boat when they were in port, they could get off it. She had to stay up till all the guests went to bed, and then she had to get up before them. She made a ton of money, but never got to spend it...she was always working.
Too bad money can't buy brains!
...and too bad it can't buy common sense. I'm starting to think that there isn't one celebrity left with the brains they were born with.
Wealth redistribution. Acts of conspicuously stupid, flagrant, squandering of wealth should be punished by surrendering said wealth and having to get a real job like the rest of us. If only I were Queen....
I promise you Paris Hilton would be living in a tiny efficiency, drinking kool-aid and eating mac and cheese to gather strength for her night toilet cleaning job.
If this guy is a billionaire, $1.87 million is chump change to him. Why can't the asshole just pay it? I hate rich people who try so hard to worm their way out of paying for things.
I remember once Hillary Swank made a huge stink because she took some fruit into Australia and they charged her $175 for doing so. She actually wrote a letter to the Australian government asking them to dismiss the fine because she didn't know about the rule. Get real, bitch! You're a millionaire, so stop wasting everyone's time and just pay the fine! (I know that's not on the same scale as ruining a coral reef, but my point is, I just hate rich people who refuse to simply pay up when they're in the wrong and it's not much money to them anyway.)
i remember that about swank too!! fucking cry baby....maybe she should go back to living in a trailer park....
totally off topic , but I'm home bored a hell and quarantined from my family. I have strep and I don't want to infect them. I went to the e.r. today, got iv drip, morphine (yes, morphine!) blood work, a needle in my ass (antibiotics) and sent home with other pain meds which are not working. I have liver damage they say is cause by alcohol or tylenol. I don't drink alot at all, but I do take excedrin just about every day due to headaches, which has acetaminophen in it.I won't have health insurance for 90 days so I can't see a doctor till after then . Man, that morphine really jacked me up. I don't know how people can abuse those types of things. I would be laying on the floor 24/7. I felt so weird. It rushed over me instantly since they shot it in the iv. I said i feel really weird. For a second I thought I would die before I could get the words out. She said it would pass and it did.
And, hey! I finally got ajob. At costco. Not my first choice but it's not like anyone's knocking down my door to hire me. Of course, one of the first things I think of is I hope I won't miss too many football games.
Valle---that's great that you got a job at Costco! I think, if I remember right, that it's not a bad place to work, and the wages and benefits are okay.
It's too bad that the nurse didn't give the morphine a little slower through your IV. I know that it can be given quickly, but I always give it over a minute or two, just so the initial rush isn't so pronounced. Some people get very nauseated with IV pain meds, so it's better to go a little slow. Hope you feel better soon.
I got morphine once and that shit barely touched me! I hardly noticed a difference. (And yes, it was real morphine, given by a real nurse at a real hospital!) What a rip-off. I swear my body is immune to everything to is supposed to help it.
Congrats on your job Valle!
This crap angers me! OH but the a-hole will pay some kind of restitution (it won’t be 1.87 mil) now because he got CAUGHT !!!!
Valle/Allison I had morphine in the hospital about 8 months ago. And like Christine said they can give it to you at a slower rate. I too cannot take painkillers, I either pass out or puke. SO, I told the nurse this and was hesitate to take the morphine (but it was the ONLY painkiller the doctor prescribed) for that reason. The nurse told me she could do the show rate thing. To tell the truth though, I think the morphine in hospitals is so watered down, it did not feel as though it took away any pain either.
valle, I have been trying to get a job at Costco for ages. I think I've applied 5x now. You're lucky. I'm over 50 so I guess I better forget about being employed. Feel better soon.
BTW...I take Excedrin everyday too. Since I no longer drink coffee, the fact that each tablet contains 65 mg of caffeine add a kick to my day and it's great for headaches.
