I've been working at subway for about a year and a half, and it always amuses me when people complain about not tessellating cheese [ed. see "This Is Not A Test" - Subway Says It Definitely Will Start Tessellating Cheese July 1"]. Now, merely to amuse myself, not only do I not tessellate the cheese, but I also leave gaps in the cheese placement so that an indeterminate amount of your bites will be cheeseless.
Also, I put a really small amount of dressing on your sandwich whenever you ask for it. Then when you ask for more, I squirt out a large quantity before you can say stop so that your sandwich has far too much dressing.
Then, when I cut the sandwich in half, I only cut it 3/4ths of the way through so that you have to messily tear the rest of the sandwich yourself.
Cheers!
- Chris

There you have the words of a proud sandwich making proffesional. Ha ha, Chris, you make sammies for a living! What have YOU got to rant about today?

sounds like when my husband was in college. He use to work for subway and do the same stuff. I think for six months we lived of subway and ramen noodles
We`re having a heatwave...
A tropical heatwave...
Sick of sweating. Yuck! That is my rant.
Oh Pat..I am so happy. I have corn tassels and corn silks! I am the only gardener in the whole lot that has corn growing. I had some of them tell me it was a waste of time...the corn would not grown, or it would flop over when we had the first storm. So as you can see from pics..I secured them. They are taller then hubs now!
Okay..it is goofy to be proud of some corn but I never grew before and it is successful! LOL
Heat has backed off here. It's cool enough that I've now put on underwear. I think I ruined my computer chair with ass-sweat.
Haven't we all Crabbie? Haven't we all!
i admit, i had to click on the article to see wtf tessellating cheese meant!!!
it is hot....it is hot....IT IS HOT....tomorrow is suppose to be the worst with high humidity.....i try to stay out of my AC bedroom during the day for empathy for my critters....
also bonus, a yard that abuts my backyard has an above ground pool....i'd have no problem listening to kids enjoying themselves in the pool, but instead the mother HATES her children and screams at them non-stop SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP STOP YOUR SCREAMING [they scream out of enjoyment] DO THIS DO THAT DON'T DO THAT SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP....very soon i shall snap and yell out PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH.....
Cool here...just like I like it.
Chris makes my sandwich exactly the way I would want it.
it's so hot i'm making my lemonade frozen pie tomorrow!!! :)
graham cracker crust
1 pint vanilla ice cream (softened)
1 tub of cool whip thawed
6 oz. frozen lemonade concentrate thawed
mix ice cream, cool whip, lemonade together and pour into graham cracker crust, freeze for 4-6 hours....enjoy!!! tart and refreshing!!!! think i'll add some cherry juice to mine too....
BONUS neighbor fun! a few houses down from me they also have a pool and that woman also hates her kids....so i am hearing book ends "SHUT UP" "FUCKING STOP THAT" "STOP YELLING" "FUCKING STOP THAT"....ah.....those 2 mothers should hook up and discuss how much they hate their kids....
I haven't posted in awhile but I wanted to today.
My rant is my dad...he has been acting so childish for the last 6 months and quite frankly I am getting sick of it. It all started when I met this one guy who turned out to be an asshole...My dad had basically been holding it over my head that he had him figured out...well I needed to figure this out myself you know.
So after I told him that I broke it off with him he was all happy and everything. Until I told him about a guy my cousin introduced me to. At that time he was a friend. Then it all started all over again. I can't tell you how many times we have had arguments over the fact that what happened before is over and done with but yet he keeps bringing it up. I know I made a mistake with the other guy, I've owned up to and moved on. He has it in his head that I am sneaking around doing things which I'm not. He told me he didn't want to know what I am doing at all...so I gave him what he wanted...he turns it around and says that's how I wanted it.
So today we got into again and he said I don't want to argue about this anymore and I told him well then quit bringing it up. He got mad and left.
I'm 30 years old, I have finally found a guy that makes me happy and actually going out and do things together, dating. But yet my dad can't be happy about it. No matter what I do seems to be the wrong thing.
Like yesterday I went to air up my air mattress to make sure there is no holes because we are going camping this weekend. All I could find was a little air gun...He asked what are you doing. I said I'm going to blow up the mattress make sure there is no holes. He said don't use that and I asked "What am I suppose to use" He threw down the cup he was holding stomped over to where he had his air tools and got a piece to use. All he could have said was to get that piece out...he didn't need to throw such a fit.
Ugh! Okay sorry for such a long rant.
Well, we have the Explorer - finally. We are at our mechanic now getting it checked to make sure the work the dealer did is all legit & it doesn't need anything else.
Oh and it's 101 out AND I'M STILL PREGNANT. Today is my due date. Admittedly, I wanted the baby to wait until all this car crap was done, but now that it is - LET'S GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD!!!!! Hubby & I just went for a walk-nothing. I honestly feel good, almost too good, like my body doesn't even feel like I'll be having a baby in the next day, let alone week. I'm destined to be pregnant forever!
We're going out for BBQ tonight, I'll add extra hot sauce and see if that encourages the Bean to scoot out.
biz--hope the explorer checks out and i would still complain to the BBB about that dealer for not knowing there was things wrong with the vehicle!! especially the tires!! FUCKERS!!!
i have read in many books to eat chinese food to induce labor....might be worth a shot!
Biz...you feel extra good/ Its about to happen. Your hormone levels are exploding and your body is reacting to it soon being over so you feel great! yea, that BBQ wont look too good if you get sick during labor. I had chili right before I went into labor with my daughter, it was the grossest thing ever. The stupid nurse was holding that kidney shaped thing up under my face, it was not large enough! Not even! LOL...yuck! Ok, well good luck girly! Glad that damn truck drama is solved. I cannot sleep if I need a problem solved. I think women are constant worriers! xo
Rox
Miss Tia,
I can't wait to try that pie. I think you posted about it last year, but I forgot to write the recipe down.
It's hot as heck here! I just got back from the coast, family vacation. I couldn't stay the entire week, but I was glad for the time I did get to spend with them.
I hope everyone is staying cool, or at least trying to.
~Palmetto Girl
yeah i posted it last year and it was such a hit with one poster, she served it A LOT!! it is tart, yet sweet and very refreshing on a hot day!
Thanks Rox & Miss Tia. I will be writing a letter to the BBB. I looked up the dealer because they have a BBB sign hanging but they are no longer registered w/ them. SHADY.
Just got home w/ the truck, it all checked out spic and span, just had filthy oil. What a relief.
Miss Tia, the pie sounds good, buuuuut isn't it a little strange mixing the dairy w/ lemon? Maybe I will give it a shot.
Theresa, do you live with your dad?
Heidi, I think your corn looks yummy and I know you'll get a lot out of it.
Tia, I tried that pie..OMG. So good.
Crabbie, use a towel for cripes sake.
BIZ!!!!!! Wowie, almost time.
Theresa in Texas, thanks! You saved me posting my own rant because except for the people and situations, I'm fed up with pretty much the same thing as you. When someone starts trying to control a part of your life, you wind up lying just to keep them quiet, not from guilt or sneakiness! Some people gotta focus on their own lives instead of trying to run others'.
nattie
biz---put that in your letter, that they have a BBB sign there and they aren't active anymore!! that is indeed shady!!!
i never considered it strange mixing lemonade with dairy....it turns out being very creamy....it's almost like a frozen lemonade custard/yogurt pie....you eat the pie frozen---well let it sit out about 15-20 minutes so it's still frozen but not as frozen, if that makes sense....
you could use lime aid....some people have tried even orange juice....i stick with lemonade though.....you could even due blueberry juice....the possibilities are endless! :)
Biz, so exciting it's your due date! Hang in there...
nattie
Oh and Rox, my mom & hubby just decided we're going for seafood instead of BBQ - HA...
Biz ~ now that you have the Explorer back... you have to drive over railroad tracks and down bumpy roads to encourage the bean to bail out.
Wish I could remember more of the shit people used to say but the heat is affecting my brain.
get chinese!!!
If anyone is interested Al Walentis' new Gosselin book is out. You can read a free preview at smashwords.com.
I'm sorry for all you guys who are in the heatwave. I'm having the opposite LOL Todays high is 63 and rained all last night and today and it's going to be the same tomorrow. It's a nice little reprieve. I've been eating maters from my free plants for close to a month now and they are now setting tons of new ones. I have japalenos, Anaheim and bells coming out of my ears. I experimented this year planting green beans in a pot and WOW there's a gazillion tiny beans! There about a 1/2 inch and about as thick as a toothpick. Since it's so cool I'm making a homemade pizza with from scratch dough, hot Italian sausage, maters and bell peppers and basil from my little pot garden. It's all become so root bound that I have to water twice a day minimum :)
Yes I do live with my dad...I've lived with him for the last 6 years. Two years ago he had knee replacement surgery and during that time he was unable to walk, so I did a lot for him. He is now capable of doing things on his own.
This summer I have been going and staying with my cousin a lot and plus it gives Kevin and I chances to go on dates. That also gives my dad chances to do things on his own like he needs to and not rely on me so much.
I have been told by people that it sounds like he's jealous. I have been just taking all the blame and living with it so that there are no arguments but yet he constantly brings everything back up.
we are suppose to get cooler friday when it goes to the 80s! YES!!!!
i'm gonna be making herbed mozarella balls, antipasto salad, and other non-cookable foods for quite awhile!!!
yep teresa it seems he's jealous some other man is taking your time and he has gotten use to you living with him and doing things for him....subconsciously he probably thinks if he sabotages your relationships you'll move in with him and continue doing things for him.....realize what he is doing (and really, he probably doesn't consciously realize what he's doing) and avoid conversations that could bring out his negative banter....if he does get negative, realize the motives and don't play along.....
good luck!
i know this might be off topic.. but i am really really looking forward to more writing on the Last Word.. i read them all and i want more.. dammit..more..lol
Damn..Now I want a Veggie Delight, on Italian, Swiss cheese, no jalapeno, with oil and vinegar.
It is like a salad grinder! (sub, hoagie)
Miss Tia...I never bring anything up, he is always the one to bring it up. I guess I will just have to let him have his say and just go on and not say anything, even though I know what I am doing and not doing.
He assumes that I am doing certain things...I've told him time and time again not to assume that I am doing something cause then he stews about it and makes it into something huge when it's not. I have no problem telling him what I am doing...He assumes that I won't tell him...all he has to do is ask what I am planning or going to do.
I am afraid to even say anything about Kevin, or what we are going to do, because he'll get all huffy about it.
I feel like right now I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't.
As for the jealousy thing...I told my sons psychologist what was going on and even he said that my dad sees another man in my life as competition.
I need my own life.
Tia,
What do you put in your antipasta?
I am so in the mood for that. I love love love Margareta brand hard salami.
Ohh some of those hot italian peppers too!
I am hungry here. Too hot to cook. Going to be cooler tomorrow here in CT also.
i like peppers but not a big fan of peppers in antipasto, though i'll use pepperjack cheese!.....i'm doing chunks of salami, pepperoni, pepper jack cheese, monteray jack, cheddar....i'll mix it with paul newman's italian dressing and let it marinate for a day....not really into all the other stuff, peppers, olives (blah), etc....i figure why not make it with what i want???
i'm excited to make some marinated mozarella balls!
* 1 Tablespoon fresh parsley, coarsely minced
* 1 Tablespoon fresh basil, coarsely minced
* 1 Tablespoon fresh oregano, coarsely minced
* 1/2 cup good quality olive oil
* 2 teaspoons lemon juice
* 1 pound fresh baby mozzarella cheese balls
i got the herbs fresh!!!
i wanna try some curry veggie dip too as i am growing curry.....
Lindsay Lohan is using Twitter to educate us on sentencing guidelines:
http://twitter.com/lindsaylohan
Biz...I'm so glad it's finally Bean time. I'm dying to find out what name you picked! Try to relax and keep us informed!
oh my....those tweets show she still doesn't get it and is playing a martyr and a victim....cruel and unusual punishment? accept some fucking responsibility!
Don't you love the part in the hair of the cop on the left? So exact and so long.
My last comment was supposed to be on the Lindsey Lohan section. I got lost. It happens a lot!!
Well, my son's sis and her kids moved out a week ago today (she went with her mom)...you'd think everything would be cool, right? NOT. Her ex has been calling the cops on us several times a week and finally the Section 8 lady heard about it (we came here on the disaster voucher from Katrina/Biloxi) and so she came over to see what was up.
While she was here, she noticed that there were many repairs that had not been done (which we've been trying to have fixed for 2 YEARS) and she said Sec 8 would no longer pay rent for this place--we are to find a new place by 7/31.
The landlord showed up (after ignoring our calls for 2 months) and said he had the place next door coming open this week but we could NOT take our snakes or the rats---after we have lived here 4 years with them no problem. So we called to see how much it would be to get our car out of impound (lapse of insurance) and were told they don't know if they even still HAVE it, they might have sold it off!
We call the property manager and say we will move next door and were told that place isn't coming open after all. So we are royally fucked now. I don't know what to do. My son is talking about giving up. WHY is this happening to us???
Jane lol :-))
crabbie gross :(
biz enjoy your dinner date
& miss Tia you're right ... I was having
dim sum and went into labour with my son.
Your recipe sounds just the thing I need !
I love cool whip ! Up here it's not classified
as dairy persay they catagorize it as an
edible oil product. Still it tastes great ! ;)
- Kiki
i dunno the rental law where you live kim but most places have to give you a 30 day notice and then legally evict you.....also if you had section 8 and your landlord wouldn't fix the problems, it is the LANDLORD'S responsibility to have 'em fixed, not yours....
i would get to legal aid ASAP (they are free) and also go talk to someone else at section 8 and see if they making you move out of the place due to the landlord's neglect and/or if they are taking back your voucher and if they ARE trying to revoke your voucher, they need to have given warnings, etc....tell 'em you will fight it (they don't like that and might cave in)...you haven't done anything where your voucher should be revoked.....
and i don't mean to sound mean here, but i hope your son accepts some responsibility for the situation he created with having her move in with you guys without asking you and then defying you when you said you didn't want them there....now her ex has caused YOU to be almost homeless because of them being there....i know he was being kind hearted but he didn't think the situation out and he didn't discuss it with you first.....
GOOD LUCK!!!
Heidi!! Funny, I grew corn this year also...and everyone told me the same thing. 1. the deer will get'um. 2. You didn't plant enough so they won't cross polinate. Well, I've already eaten all 14 ears of mine, some were a little small, but lemme tell you, it 'don't' get much better than silver queen corn! Divine! I threw some corn cut off the ears in w/my homegrown butterbeans! YUM! Hooray for you and your corn!
Tia - Your pie sounds divine and refreshing...I'm going to try it w/limeade. It's hot, as Palmetto Girl said, here also, bit I think it's all over the east coast.
CJ - Are you honestly saying it's hot in your neck of the woods? I don't remember hot weather when we lived there (remember, back in the late '60's)...Linda
I think Chris has a lot of disjointed anger and needs to cut it out, that's my rant. Why mess with things people pay for just by asking a simple request such as a condiment on your sandwich? Heaven forbid. Good Lord, Chris must have a great life to be so angry at such trivial things.
That's my rant, petty bitching.
It is HOT and HUMID here in Chicago. It feels like the air is being sucked right out of you. I'm not complaining. All I have to do is picture last winter with snow as far as you could see and it makes me appreciate the heat.
Something is eating my brussel sprouts. I think I have a cabbage worm or it's those white butterflies. I have my neem oil and BT and I'm going to go hunting as soon as the heat dies down.
Biz, if you want to start contractions, do some nipple stimulation (or have your husband do it LOL)
Nipple stimulation produces oxytocin which causes contractions. I did it to start labor with my 3rd son and it definitely works. Here's some more info on it.
http://www.birthingnaturally.net/cn/technique/nipple.html
Tia: he just came and said he was sick of me always keeping him from doing what he wants to do so he's gonna leave and get away from me. His sis is going to let him stay with her. I can't believe this is happening. I don't think I want to keep struggling.
Sorry you're going through this, Kim. I'm hoping that you are able to find your way to a good place again.
Did you have any luck with the doctor's office regarding your medication? It seems to me that you need them to help you now more than ever. I am hoping that you follow through and pressure them to get what you need. Tell them what is going on in your life. It should be obvious, once you do, that you need some medical intervention.
I am hoping that you also talk to someone about your housing needs, too. It sounds as if Miss Tia has some good advice on section 8 housing. It's important to take those first steps to help yourself legally. I know that it sometimes seems as though you don't have the energy or emotional ability to do what you need to, but if you take the first few steps, you will be surprised at the strength you have. I really want you to be successful, and have a good life.
It's a terrible reality that kids grow up and leave. Your young man is trying to find a life for himself, and I do feel badly for you being left in the lurch, but it will get better. Good luck, Kim.
Linda ~ Yes, it does warm up in my neck of the woods. The snow finally melted (maybe that was two weeks ago.... hehehehe). Had a warm early spring, then it got cool and rainy now it's a hot SUNNY summer. Not dreary in Erie. Not quite as hot as the East Coast, about 10 degrees 'cooler', but we still have the humidity.
well let your son go off into the big bad world by himself....
YOU need to call legal aid, talk to someone else at section 8 and see if they will let you transfer your voucher elsewhere and if not, tell 'em YOU WILL FIGHT THEM.....they also have to legally evict you.....
if they are not receptive and do not comply with the law, then go over THEIR heads and contact the state office of HUD.....
this might be a good opportunity for you in the long run to get some good housing, that doesn't need repairs, and you can live by yourself!
good luck!!! you know you got friends here!!!
I was going to say the same thing Tia said. If he is going to throw this whole mess back onto you, then let him move in with his sister! Then you can get a smaller place that you can afford (with your section 8) and have a bit of peace in your life!
*jumping off soapbox*
Not as hot today like days past. I was able to turn the air conditioner off. I need to get some housework done now. It was so hot that I just did not care.
Now that it is cooler, I care...LOL
I have to go to the garden and water also.
Biz, are you nesting at all?
I have been thinking about this. Little clues keep popping up and I don't know if it is wishful thinking or a possibility. I think my daughter might be my grandma reincarnated. A few months ago, my mom said that for some reason my daughter is so familiar to her. It is like she has known her all along. My daughter is 17 mo. old. She seems like an old soul. Extremely intelligent and a lot of charisma. People are just naturally drawn to her and she acts like she is way older than what she is.
She was born premature. My water just broke one night. When she was born, the doctor look at the placenta and said he didn't know why my water broke but if it hadn't she would died inside of me if I would have carried her even two weeks longer. If she would have gotten any bigger, she would have cut off her own blood supply.
My grandma died 15 years ago. She had this habit of clicking her thumbnail and first fingernail together all the time. My daughter has started to do this. Nobody else she is around does it.
There have been other things that people in my family have thought that my grandma had helped or saved them. For example, when my cousin was driving to her funeral, she was falling asleep while driving and all of a sudden the seatbelt got extremely tight on her and it woke her up.
Is it possible that my grandma started my labor and popped into my daughter's soul?
Biz, the acidic lemon mixes with the dairy & it thickens! Its the perfect combo for a luscious frozen pie! I am going to make this too! Miss Tia you rock!
Thx!
Rox
OMG! Anon! It seems you loved your g'ma very much. I loved mine more than my own life and when we lost her it ended part of myself. Then I had babies. Your baby daughter is the start of an entire new life, a continuation of your grandmother's life! My daughter acts like family members that she has never even met! It's genetics. But maybe g'ma is kind of guiding things along & helping you out. She loved you too!
Rox
I loved that answer, Rox. It's awesome and sounds right. People ask me at work sometimes about these things and though I believe, I don't actually know. And anon, you can sign your nic to things like that..we're all a bit odd here.
Thank you guys for the encouragement--I'll do what you said regarding Sec 8 too.
I went through the nesting phase a few times, this morning it's more like -what can I do around the house, this baby's not going to come if I sit on my arse all day. So I've been cleaning and doing laundry all morning. Oh and running around teh yard after Sam and Angus and doing some squats. Still no baby. I don't even feel close. I feel good, normal, just pregnant, but not even really uncomfortable today. Almost too good.
After Sam's nap, we're going shopping. I don't want to sit around here all day waiting.
I totally believe in nesting. When I was pg with Chelsea (oldest), it was a week before my due date. I was at my Mom`s place and I decided I was going to clean her kitchen cabinets. Now I grew up in this house and never cleaned them before..AND to reach the two top shelves, you have to climb on the counter with one foot, and the dryer with the other foot (galley style area in that part of kitchen). Big ole pregnant me..high above, grabbing old plates and kitchen wares to pass down to my mother.
LOL
Pregnant with Natalie was the same way. I was on the floor scrubbing the kitchen floor.
I had her 3 days before Halloween and took Chelsea trick or treating when I got home!
Hubs is home until Monday per Dr orders. They figured his chest pains were ramped up acid reflux and rib pain from retching. He will be okay.
Burgers on the grill and a big ole salad for dinner.
biz----get some chinese food!
