Pit Bull Hero

The Elkhart County (Indiana) Red Cross is calling a Bristol pit bull a hero after he alerted his family to a fire, and even tried to pull a 3-month-old baby girl away from the danger.
"He's the hero today. He's the man," said Kemper Hunter, Thor's owner. "We turned around to look for the bassinet that was at the head of the bed, and it's at the door. All we got to do is open the door and go out. [Thor's] like 'Let's roll, dad! It's time to go, I got you.'"
*
Amazing story, and there were tiny pics of the fire. It was a trailer house and it was bad. If that dog hadn't been there, it looks like the whole family would have died. Thor actually grabbed the whole bassinet where a baby girl was sleeping and drug it out of the bedroom and to the front door! Makes me sad that dog's don't have thumbs, he could have opened the door. Geesh, someone buy that dog a T-bone!

That's so sweet! I'd like to think that Angus would do the same for us if the occasion ever came up.

I'm @ the hospital now with pitocin pouring into my veins. Some mild-ish contractions, a few minutes apart. Still only @ 2 cm & water hasn't broken tho, so could be a long day.
There's nothing on tv and I can't sleep, so I'm online - thank god for technology!

And, what the heck Biz? Have you talked to the Bean and explained what's going on and what her part is in this adventure? Did someone not fill her in?

I get so sick of the bad rap that Pit Bulls get. The dog park I go to has tons of them going there and never, not once have I seen an agressive one, ever.

This one deserves a whole cow!

He was just pulling the bassinet out of the fire because he likes his babies medium rare. Probably gets a stomache ache if they're too crispy.

I love a good dog story, and there really are a lot of them. It's especially heartwarming when it is a pit bull. I know they are wise, intelligent dogs, but poor owners, and the agressive nature they are sometimes bred for diminish their value.

That little Bean is just comfy, and likes it where she is! Good luck with the induction.
