Most of you who read her regularly have figured out that I'm not feeling up to snuff this week. I figured if I posted a couple of times a day, you'd know I was alive and kicking. Hopefully I'll snap out of it soon. But, I really do love reading what you write in comments. That weird pet post was fun, it made me laugh. Anyhow, today's question is..if a genie appeared and gave you three wishes, what would they be in order of importance?

I could go for the most important things like peace on earth and lots of money but I do not feel like doing that..so here goes.
1. I want the former thickness of my hair back please. My hair has thinned since I hit my 40s. I have gotten used to it but it took a long time.
2. I want a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. I want it to have the ability to not crap out on me and every repair will not cost and arm or leg.
3. I want one extra room in my house. On the first floor. Like a sun room. And it is MINE ALL MINE. Nobody puts their shit in there and nobody uses it for anything! MINE!
Thank you..I liked that.
1. $250,000,000 in the bank after taxes...then i could buy up the neighbor's houses, demolish them, and expand my yard, remodel my house, get a new vehicle, buy my friends houses in the hood and basically do whatever i wanted re: buying books, FOOD, vehicles, vacations, etc...
2. abolish abuse towards the vulnerable---children, animals, the elderly---world wide
3. FUCK CHINA!!!
Heidi, I hope you get the room of your own. I really do.
Tia..lol @ fuck china.
1. World peace.
2. Save the children.
3. The ability to give myself oral sex.
1. The ability to make enough money, without working, to allow me time to work on my various charities.
2. A house by the lake.
3. My own personal housekeeper.
What Miss Tia said. Seriously.
This is both easy and hard. Lots of money could do so much, but what's the fun in listing that?
1. Great jobs for my kids in a 30 mile radius from me for the rest of my life, preferably living in my neighborhood.
2. The commitment to eating healthy and exercising for the rest of my life.
3. One million American dollars.
Of course I have to have the money.
1. I want my health. No heart problems, no jaw problems, no OCD, none of that crap that I have now. That would be more than enough for me, actually, but just for fun I'll pick two more-
2. Be a successful writer with lots of money.
3. Make all the people who abuse their pets die in a giant raging fire.
Crabbie...I hear that if you practice yoga that there are some positions that might get you close to #3. But I hear that you have to work really hard at it!!!!
1.That abusers and torturers everywhere, whether their victims are people or animals, drop dead, effective immediately.PS. I am all for pushing sociopaths off the ice when no one is looking, as certain indigenous groups do.
2. That Sarah Palin, Glen Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, and their ilk all be the next crew on a space station with a 50 year tour of duty.
3. That everyone here have all their wishes come true.
Like Heidi said, I could go for world peace and all that, but I'm going to be a little selfish---just a little!
1. Health--for me, my son, my sister and her family
2. If not wealth, then the ability to find a job that we (all the people previously listed) would
make enough to pay our bills---but wealth would be nice.
3. For south La. to be out of harms way long enough for the people to rebuild and to have the jobs to acheive #2----maybe 10 years of prosperous growth!!!
Okay, here goes:
1. I want disease wiped from the face of the earth in all its forms. Instead, when a person reaches an age of his/her choosing, he/she chooses to die peacefully and painlessly.
2. I want all abusers of other people and animals to be put on a large island somewhere in the middle of nowhere with no means of ever escaping. No law will be imposed except the laws they impose upon themselves.
3. I want the idea of war to be a concept that nobody "gets" and in which nobody will participate. Old men may no longer send young men and women to die by the thousands. All weapons will be deleted from the earth and from our consciousness so that the very idea of harming someone physically would be anathema to each and every one of us.
Like Heidi, I have so many more wishes, but these were off the top of my head.
I love this. Everyone has wonderful responses. Just to add a different twist:
1. More random acts of kindness;
2. Everyone, regardless of their name, affiliation, job, etc., is held fully accountable for their own actions;
3. It cools off soon so I can go back to making beads :)
Hope you feel better soon DD
I would also like to adopt Anon's wish #2 and Miss Tia's #3.
1. Pat gets well right now!! Pat gets 3 wishes right now!
2.No more wars of any kind anywhere forever.
3.Wealth redistribution.Seriously.Why do the wicked prosper, year after year? Because psychopaths with lawyers guns and money have been running the world, stealing and keeping the wealth since before Ghengis Khan. The 3 most profitable businesses in the world today are Drugs, Guns, and Sex slavery. All that dirty money could be put to good use by good people. Make it so.
What Barbara in VA said!
Going to be totally selfish with this.
1. Have a enough income so I don't have to worry each month/ each year on how I will stretch the dollars to pay for basic living expenses and my health insurance. Not asking for millions, don't need or want that much. 10K more a year would do nicely.
Scratch the amount. Start me off with a lump sum first. Then I could help my kid pay off her house and that would solve her problems in times of job upheavals.
2. Some one to find a cure for RA and put my body back in the shape it was eight years ago. And while they're at it, come up with cures for all other ailments.
3. A Fairy Godfather handyman to make all the needed repairs on my house and be on call for future problems.
(4. Oh yeah, peace on earth and goodwill to mankind, and all that crap)
sorry dd your not feeling so well. Big hug.. I wish that i could help u out a little. my wishes.... Lets see.. 1. To open up my own gym daycare afterschool program. So all children have a place of their own to workout have fun be safe and learn important skills. 2" like alot of u to get rid of all abusers of all kinds. Specially one who abuse children and pets. Let them all be sent to a deserted island. So they abuse themselves. 3. Living life in more of a simple time. Taking time to smell the roses... avas mommy..
1. Get rid of my agoraphobia or whatever the heck it is that's wrong with me.
2. Get a job
3. Get my own house. A cute little house on a good chunk of land so I can garden. Oh, and no neighbors!
hmm, normally I'd say something along the money/house/car route, but right now - right this second I really really want ...
1- a full night's sleep, at least 8 hours, where I wake up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, instead of needing more sleep.
2- a 2 year old who doesn't know how to whine or what a tantrum is.
3- hubby's schedule cut in half so he can spend more time with all of us, together and individually - especially me :)
hope you start feeling better soon DD! Seems half the people I know, along with Sammy, have some weird summer cold virus right now.
1. Have the patience and knowhow to write the novel I've been dreaming of writing for ages.(and that it's a success of course)
2. Find a partner willing to meet me halfway on everything and not try to mold me into someone I'm not.
3. A trip to Tibet.
1. To look, feel AND be as healthy as I was at 18. This time I wouldn't waste it.
2. Nine million dollars, which will be divided equally among my two children and me.
3. Three more wishes.
Heh.
1. The ability to stop smoking without wanting to kill anyone.
2.Good health for my family
3. Enough money so that I don't have to live week to week and worry and possibly help others in my family in the same situation.
The really shallow part of my personality would wish for:
1. Thin (and the health that comes with it.)
2. Beautiful (really, drop-dead, jaw-droppingly beautiful)
3. Wealthy (like gazillionaire rich)
The altruistic side would wish:
1. That I would discover the TRUTH about the afterlife
2. That I could accept the answer from #1 with grace.
3. To find out that we're not alone here in this universe - and that the other extraterrestials will like us and not eat us.....
Ooo! I like the idea of Tibet.
Stop smoking..Let me come over your house and bust both your knee caps. hehehe
While you recoup, we will refuse to get you any cigs and throw you a box of nicotine patches.
That is kinda how I quit and I orchestrated the whole thing. 8 months smoke free this month.
Crabbie, you join yoga and in about 10 years..your wish will come true!
Cynthia I really like your first two wishes. I would love for everyone to know the truth about the afterlife and whether there's a God or not. There would be a lot less fighting here on Earth if we could all know these things for sure instead of having wars over what everyone thinks should be believed.
#1 Go back 10 years and have a do-over.
#2 Have a healthy baby or two.
#3 Win the loto of $1,000,000.00
1. That the need for money (or currency of any kind) is eliminated from our world. Thereby stopping war, crime, greed, violence and just about any other suffering you can think of.
2. To allow everyone to feel the sense of peace - whatever that may mean to them - at all times.
3. Health - may we all be healthy.
#4 - would have to be 'Fuck China' - just because I admire Miss Tia's wherewithal!!!
Hope you are feeling well soon Ms. Pat.
1. I would want my daughters to never have heartbreak from a man because they would know they deserve to be treated with respect and will only accept that.
2. I wish I could be forever thin .Not ParAss thin, Valle thin.
3. Of course, money for my family to be happy. With it I would have a nice 5br house, inground pool, tennis court, workout room and my own soundproof bathroom to keep pests from bothering me. Also,2 vacation homes, 1 for summer and 1 for winter. I would take my children around the world.I would get my deviated septum fixed so the headaches would go away. Also, therapy probably a good idea.
Now, Genie, hop to it!
1. Pay off the credit cards.
2. Dump the crap car I have a get a new one that I do not have to put money into repairing every three months!
3. Sell my current home and find a nice 2 bed, 1.5 bath townhome with attached garage that I can afford.
Pat, I forgot to tell you that I hope you feel better soon.
Merette
Valle, I had the surgery for deviated septum many years ago and it was so easy! No pain at all. I think that a couple of times I took plain tylenol for generalized discomfort, but that was it. Oh, and I wasn't supposed to bend over for a week as it would increase the chance of bleeding, but that was it.
Now that you have a new job, and will most likely get decent benefits, maybe you can have that done.
It was such a relief to be done with the headaches and sinus infections.
Just sayin'. . . maybe that wish can come true soon!
