Yoko opposes parole

Yoko Ono will once again face the parole board and tell them she opposes parole for Mark David Chapman, the man who killed her husband in 1980. Ono wrote that if Chapman is released, "I am afraid it will bring back the nightmare, the chaos and confusion once again. Myself and John's two sons would not feel safe for the rest of our lives."
*
This is not news, what was news to me is that commenters on the story actually have the audacity to oppose her view. I went to three different sites that reported this story and found comments like "Way to go with peace and love, eh Yoko?" And "God forgives everyone. Yoko Ono, not so much."
*
I was enraged. Who the fuck are these people? Chapman shot John Lennon in cold blood in front of the Dakota where Yoko still lives! He should be dead, not sweeping up offices and being kept safe in protective custody. He's a pasty faced psycho coward murderer. And Yoko is supposed to forgive him and ask that he get another chance?????? What the fuck is wrong with people?

the opposing commenters are assholes. I can't imagine dealing with my husband being murdered. That psycho belongs six feet under.instead he's in the second best place for him abd there he should stay.

i think part of it is that yoko is a pretty hated figure by many people....i bet a lot of those commenters are also 'christians' who wouldn't forgive someone who killed their spouse or family member!! ya know? hypocrites....but i really think probably the comments are based in yoko hate....

i can't believe the asshole is up for parole, again....

oh and did you see the backlash sean lennon got for posting a pix of lady gaga playing his dad's piano on his twitter?? people were saying no one should play it, etc.....

Tia, you are correct. A lot of comments were from avid Christians. And the Yoko hate, oh, she broke up the Beatles, dontcha know? She's one person I have some respect for. I would have killed someone by now if I was her.

Totally agree with all of you. When you take a life the way Chapman did, you forfeit your life. Murderers of this sort should just off themselves and save everyone the expense of keeping them in jumpsuits and bologna sammiches.

He has a cush prison job, so he doesn't have to eat the baloney. He can buy good stuff in the prison's store. Isn't that nice?

When Elvis died in 1977, I was 8 years old. My friends told me and I had NO CLUE who he was. Seriously. My parents were from the Depression and my sibs listened to Rock music. After that day of embarrassment, I paid attention to music. I was 11 when Lennon died and I heard about it in the school yard that morning after. I KNEW who he was and I fell in love with him, the Beatles, and even Wings after that.
Those commenters are asshats.

Elvis didn't die!!! he faked his death!!!!

i remember the night Lennon was shot, they cut into 'name that tune' (game show showed at night where they played a bit of a song and you had to guess what it was) to say he had been shot....then a few hours later they interrupted again to say that he was dead....

i honestly can't stand yoko (how many years has she been here and you STILL can't understand what she's saying??) but he loved her and she was truly (obviously) grief stricken and traumatized with his murder.....she treated julian like shit for years, though they have patched things up....she also always lights a candle in her window the night of the anniversary for people down at strawberry fields to see.....

i don't think she broke up the beatles, i just can't stand her....

Yoko is an intelligent woman that John loved not for her looks but because of who she is inside. I always say 'what was good enough for John Lennon, is OK with me". We love Yoko at my house. Sh e should never be allowed to sing but as an artist she was quite well known is artsy circles before she even met John. So, she has her own talents. If you follow her on Twitter, she's really a nice person. I feel for her. I was aghast when they broke in on TV the night he was murdered. It was shocking. He was and still is my fav Beatle. He had more to him than Paul does. George was more like John, he also died as a result of injuires by an attacker. Even tho it was yaers later, his lungs never recovered from the stabbing and he did get cancer, which did kill him. Tia, I am surprised at your dislike of Yoko. She's a cool lady that I also very much respect & have a high regard for. Julian is fine. Sean is and always will be. Both talented gifted muscians themselves. Both look like their father. Chapman looks like a fat blob. How is he still alive? Aren't there murderes in prison that would love to off him? He works in the law library. I am surprised he hasn't been dragged down an aisle & hatcheted! The world would cheer!!! I don't forgive so easily either.

I just really think crazy murders should stay in jail.

I can't believe this guy comes up for parole or gets privileges, the way he went about planning this, argh!!! Meanwhile there are people who've fallen on hard times & are homeless who don't have it as cushy as he does. This is one case they should have just thrown away the key.

I'm with you on Yoko, Miss Tia, I don't believe she broke them up either. It's tough to keep highly creative individuals together. They naturally want to explore their own media further & rarely do they all want to explore in the same direction or have the same vision for the future. I mean the one constant in life is that all things end & nothing stays the same forever, except maybe spam. :)

And our hard earned taxpayer dollars are going towards putting a roof over the piece of feces' head and three squares in its mouth, every fucking day! Unbelievable!!!

Murderers and rapists should be killed. The only problem with that is that with the present system we have, it costs more to keep them alive than to shoot them. How much sense does that make?

Chapman should not even be elgible for parole. Hopefully the parole board listens to Yoko.

I just thot of this...maybe they should let him out? He'd last about 5 minutes! Dead. No more problem!
