I've read this site too and check in daily. Yes, the Duggars are frightening. I percieve JB as the nerdy unpopular kid who scored the cheerleader and had to find a way to make sure he kept her. He's a fricken ignorant hillbilly and he creeps the shit out of me.
Another good read is razingruth blog. She's a young, unmarried woman who's father is a higher up in the Gothard cult who has also escaped. She also has done some wrting for Vickyies blog.
Smart women, smart writing. The thing about the Duggars is they won't give their girls a chance. It breaks my heart.
Thanks for this link DD. I have family that is in this movement and it is very hard to sit back and 'wait' for something bad to happen. I guess I'm one of those glass half empty people.
OMG I LOVE this site. I am fascinated by Vickies story. Great website and the stories will curl your hair and shine a light on everything that is wrong with organized religion. There is also a great site www.freejinger.com that is an awesome message board discussing Fundies.

I think it is criminal that the Duggar's have indoctrinated those kids. Josh, at some point, wanted to go to college, but they did not encourage that at all. Now, he's only barely 21 and has a wife and kid and probably another one soon on the way. The Duggar's make it seem like their bizarre and cultish lifestyle is normal. Those two older girls, Jana and Jill, I think, are just Ma and Pa Duggar's personal bitches. They are the mother to the younger ones. Those girls are smart - can't they just leave?

My husbands uncle is a Sothern Baptist minister and his family looks to follow the Quiver movement with the number of children and their Duggar like take on life. It is a family full of boys..no girls.
I do find it humerous that my MIL told me years ago on a solo trip for the wife (Aunt) back to her hometown (where we reside) she informed her husband that she was having some female complications and had to have an emergency surgery to remove a growth....turns out she had her tubes tied and I don't think anyone besides my MIL and I know to this day. I say GOOD FOR HER!!
DITTO that, DD! Duggars are a very dangerous cult incompatiable with any civil rights for women. I believe they have a very dangerous, limited, subserviant, sick role that is prescibed for all the girls & woman and I object to that. Now, as for these Quiverfill people, I think that law enforcement should be involved. I found out about 6 months ago that if a Quiverfill woman has a tubal pregnancy, they will not ALLOW her to receive a surgical intervention. That means 100% death for the woman. The baby in a tubal pregnancy has 100% death rate with or without surgery. I find it to be really unacceptable that this is tolerated. These people are sickos.
