Every odd news site you read this week will contain an article about the British people who found a 'rare exotic highly poisonous" tropical plant in their back yard. It is believed a bird dropped the seed there. Source.OMFG scream! They think they've identified the thing as Devil's Trumpet. The first time I saw the headline I quickly clicked wanting a photo of this rare plant. And I got it. Dur. It's Datura. I had to pay 5 bucks for mine. Let's all scream together...Mooooooooon flower! Maybe someone will make a movie.

Love love love the new layout of the site Pat.
Thanks, I just found that yellow too bright with this new monitor. Why didn't you guys tell me I was blinding you? I need a longer header pic now.
Does this mean I should call the cops on all my neighbors (or the newspaper)? Almost everyone here has a moonflower in their garden.

Datura IS Devil's Trumpet.
Datura stramonium or Devil's Snare - other common names: augushka, jimson weed, ditch weed, loco weed, angel's trumpet, and devil's trumpet - has been found in Phyllis Abbott's garden in Suffolk.
And its only dangerous if you eat it, I don't get the big tadoo.
A member of the nightshade
And it doesnt seem rare to me. Look at all the photos. I also saw comments that it grows everywhere in France.

What is a marrow?
Marrow is, as near as I can figure, a Brit word for what we call Mallow. It's a Nightshade too and grows as weeds in my garden. It's pretty, but, not as showy as the Moonflowers.
who in the bloddy hell lets a monster weed grow on their f'g roof anyways? I cannot stand it if my gutters are full of leaves. Nothing like starting a maple tree in your gutter!! These ppl are idiots! Period!!
