Open Post
Here's an open post so I have something on here where you can leave me and others messages. I still have comp problems, but, at least I can type now. I don't know if this comp can be fixed and I'm about sick of messing with it. I have to go out of town to find some stuff I need. Hopefully, I'll be back in business soon..one way or another. What are you guys up to?

gonna go putter around the yard doing yard work.....make progress in the yard yesterday! a stray cat brought her kittens up front today (kittens about 4 weeks) but i gotta get her to move 'em because i have a cardinal nest under the awning and the mama cardinal is still sitting on her eggs! i dunno how long before the eggs hatch, but i wanna protect mama cardinal and her eggs!!
i think the mama kitty is moving her kittens over to another neighbor who feeds all the strays and i am just a pit stop along the way....that's fine....
ozone alert out today but it is not that hot out....will take breaks and keep hydrated! i gotta weed my neighbor's flower garden too....
i did email ya the pix of the balloon lift off but i obviously know you're having puter problems....you'll probably have 500 emails to go through when you get it working!!! hope your puter problems get resolved!!
We are working on the house today. Gonna try to get another room done. It's been slow going since we are "paying as we go." I snuck into the bedroom to take a break. I'm sure, any second now, the old toad will be rumbling through the house looking for me. I just needed a quick break! I'm not made for construction. I hate it but I do enjoy seeing the finished product.
Glad you are making strides in the yard, Miss Tia. Hopefully, the weather will start to cool off a little from here on out. I know I'm ready for a break in this heat.
DD, I know I speak for all of us when I say I hope your computer issues are resolved soon. We miss you around here. :)
For once we don't have any kittens. I can't believe it, but, we only have fixed cats now. I hope no new ones show up.
Good luck on the construction, Shelton, you'll have to show us what it looks like finished. I'd love some constuction around here.

Got back last evening from our
Vacay--a week goes by so quickly
when we are away. Waited all year
for that week away in the Wilderness. Back to reality today, work and lots of laundry.
Need to go grocery shopping as well tomorrow after work. Had to hit the basement pantry for canned lay choy for Dinner tonight--scary
to do that LOL.
At least I know at the end of Aug I have one more week of Vacay this year. Plan on going back to the Wilderness. I love it up there.
So many wild flowers blooming this year. I will take pics next time for help in identifying what some of them are. Glad to be back online and seeing what is up with everyone--and Troll--I caught up some on the crap you were flinging around. Go Fuck off.

I've been very busy lately but looking forward to relaxing at "girls night out" on Friday with my old friends. Dinner, drinks and an outdoor concert with a band I know all the words to their songs!

It was a busy day yesterday so I never got online once.
What am I gonna do today? I have strawberries defrosting in the fridge and I am going to make first batch of jam this morning.
It is going to be a humid one today here in the Northeast. (that is why jam is being made this morning)..
When does school start in your area? Sept 7 for my high school senior! WooHoo!
i did not see mama cardinal last evening.....i figured she went out getting herself food.....i checked this morning and she's not there!! i hope that stray cat didn't get her!!! i climbed back where the nest is and there's 2 eggs in the nest---i didn't touch the nest at all....
i'm just heartsick with worry over mama cardinal :( and she might have even got into trouble getting food elsewhere....i feel so guilty for spending my last $25 on food for me than getting a bag of sunflower seeds....i know i know....i'm too sensitive.....i finally have money today and i'm going to bj's in n. canton after i get a bath and get dressed to get sunflower seeds and then up to wild birds unlimited to get suet....
my local bj's roof collapsed in a storm a little over a week ago in the dock area and the store is being secretive about why they are currently closed and won't give any clue when they are re-opening...it's really a pain....i'm gonna send 'em a pithy letter....i mean, it's totally understandable they suffered storm damage, why not be honest and upfront with their customers?? ya know???

Tia, I wouldn't worry about your cardinal. An average clutch size is 3-4 eggs and sometimes they will not sit the nest until all eggs are laid. Do you know when she started laying? I'm sure she's fine :)
i first noticed her there about a week and a half ago....she usually spends all day sitting on the nest but would fly out occasionally to get some food for herself....i'll have bird food in a couple hours....i do just feel sick.....i hope nothing happened to her!!!
i tried to get the mama kitty to move yesterday.....i saw the mama cardinal then.....i took pan up front and she was telling the kitty a thing or too....pan LOVES to talk smack to kitties, squirrels, etc....

Hello everyone. I have missed you all.
For those that don't know yet. I had to let my
dog go. He ran into the road and his injuries
were( too much internal bleeding ) so bad.
I've been very down and upset that's why I haven't
been posting although I have been reading.
I still blame myself for my poor decision to
take him off his leash. It was all my fault.
I know how excited he gets when he is free.
It's like he's part kangeroo the way he leaps
about ! I'm doing the best that I can since the
past three weeks I've thought of little else. I just
wanted yo say hello and let you all know im still
here reading. Oh and I do know where jarhead
is but I cannot say where at the moment. But
he is not with me up here in Canada. I'm sure
he is reading this post and smiling :) hopefully
he will be in touch soon and another mystery
will be solved. A special thank you to Jane, Tia
and DD for your kind words. I find comfort in what
you wrote to me and even though I cannot rememeber
exactly what you said to me , however I will
never forget how your words made me feel.

Oh, Kiki! I am so sorry. Was your dog's name Velvet? I'm trying to remember, and I do remember the pictures of him here. He was gorgeous, and I'm sure he was a good boy. Losing a pet is the same as losing a family member----they are family. I know that you gave him a great life, and I'm sure he knew that he was very-well loved. I'm so sorry for your loss.
i talked to a wildlife person when i was out getting bird/squirrel rations and they said that if the mama wasn't back when i got home it didn't look good for her.....i just feel so sick over this.....they said sometimes birds will just abandoned their nests.....i think that mama cat and kittens upset her.....they didn't think the eggs would hatch either---which i hope not, because i would do my darnest to try to keep the little guys alive....
i know, it's just a wild cardinal, but still....i'm a sensitive sap.....she felt safe to build her nest under my awning and it wasn't for her....

i always have lots of cardinals around!!! but never a nest.... :( knowing me, i know eventually i'll bury the eggs......
I had cardinals build a nest in my honeysuckle vine one year, which was very close to my deck. Laid three eggs and then abandoned it. I think cardinals can be very skittish, so don't blame yourself if she doesn't come back. When they lay eggs and abandon, they are perfectly capable of building and filling another nest quickly :)
