Open Post

It's storming today, lots of nice rain. The yard has gone wild. Vines are taking the house. I don't care. It's a green house now. Heh. What are you up to?

Once again the opportunity for my husband to be promoted (and move us out of Jersey) has arrived, this will be the third time. I'm so sick of the ups and downs, will we get it or won't we? Every time this happens, we start looking at the area and making "what if" plans, getting our hopes up, then it doesn't work out. I so desperately want to get moved but the emotional rollercoaster involved is draining.

That's the only thing I really have complain about, living in NJ in this house that we have completely out grown. Moving would take care of ALL of my stress, without a doubt. All that is important is that my girls are amazing and healthy, I don't really care or stress about money too much or anything else, I just want to get us out of NJ.

My husband works harder than anyone I've ever known and is so committed to this company, when are they going to see that?

Sorry this is just all I can think about. We won't know anything until Monday or Tuesday, so of course I'm going to go CRAY-ZZZZY until then.

I'm going to go snuggle up with Becca and try to distract myself.

holy crap that was long... sorry!

In the midst of this crazy effed up economy we got going on, we're starting a business. Nervous and excited and all that good shit at the same time.
Got my fingers crossed for you Biz!!!

Biz..Your house is so pretty though! I wondered if I should put Becca's pic on or if those were just for me? She's so cute.

I'm going to be a Nana!!!

I am so excited, I can't stand myself...LOL!

Dirty Disher said...

Good luck Daphne.

Dirty Disher said...

OMG Angie..it's the best, I am telling you! Awesome!

Angie said...

Oh, and we just put an offer in on the first house we owned. Never mind that we'll probably end up paying twice what we sold it for 14 years ago. If we get it, we'll be 3 blocks from my grandchild.

Did I mention I'm going to be a NANA??!!!!

Yes, I'm ridiculous :)

Angie said...

Thank you!! I think with my youngest leaving for college on the 24th, I'm definitely looking for something to occupy my time. A new/old house would have done an okay job, but a baby is so much better...LOL

Dirty Disher said...

When is the baby due? You'd better start buying toys..lol.

DD--what are those white cones with roses on them, are they lights?? they look awesome! and magical!!!

i have felt like crud the past couple months...no energy, lethargic, had ZERO appetite and had serious problems with sleep...i lost A LOT of weight and i really have none to spare......

when fluffy got sick last week i was so busy and worried and i forgot to take my evening water pill and i started sleeping well and my appetite came back with a vengeance! i figured whatever funk i had been in was over.....i took my evening water pill the other night and i couldn't sleep!! i felt lethargic and like a sack of potatoes the next morning and had ZERO appetite! my clue phone rang!!! i look up that med and some of the side effects are insomnia, anorexia, anxiety, etc!!!!! maxzide is now EVIL to me and i will never ever take it again!!!! i never thought that that could be caused by a medication! i'm rather pissed i lost a couple months and about 20#s!!!

now i'm trying to regain weight! and of course ragweed will be hitting soon so i'll to see if i can get another evening diurectic as i can't take lasix twice a day!

that's my current frustration.....

DD you are always welcome to post any pics I send you, if you want to. This house is very very small, and only 2 bedrooms. I really want to be able to keep the girls separate, but Becca is only going to be in a bassinet for another month or so. We just have to wait and see I guess (I wish I had an ounce of patience!)

Thanks Daphne!

Congrats Angie!! I hope you get the house, I know your kids will appreciate it - free babysitting! Woohoo!

Angie said...

They were so excited, they didn't waste any time telling, so we won't have a baby until April...LMAO!! Of course, now she's worried she's jinxed herself, so she's added that to her fears :( They've been trying for quite a few months now and were just getting ready to start some fertility meds.

As for toys, I just bought the tupperware toy that has the shapes, you know the one? I had it myself and my kids had it...LOL My cousin had her last baby in May, so I'm buying lots of her stuff to have here at the house :)

Dirty Disher said...

Miss Tia, the cones are made of tin and old. I think they're like may day cones. I found them last weekend at a yard sale and they were in a stack and all rusted. But, five of them were still intact and I had no idea what to do with 'em so I hung them from the porch. The rope lights are there because I don't have an outside light. This whole place is kind of crazy and I don't care anymore. I need a pirate flag like you have.

Dirty Disher said...

Thanks Biz, I'll put the Bean on soon. She's the sweetest baby.

Angie, being a grandma is the best. It's like you get to fix every mistake you ever made and when you get tired..they go home. I swear I love being a grandma..never thought I'd say that.

Found "White" Mold growing in my Office at work today. It was/is growing on the carpeting, up the side of a wooden file cabinet.
Also growing all over the bottom of a large file folder. Called & emailed my Boss who finally came to work around 10:30am. He came in and said--never heard of white mold--of course I then maximized internet site of Molds on my computer screen. He still did not seem too concerned--I then flew into a rant so bad he had to do something. I had already called the Environmental Guy to come take a look--he shows up at 2:40PM. Agreed with me it was white mold. He called his Boss who told him to just have me move my desk to other side of office--Enviro Guy tells his Boss, NO. Office to small, she needs to move OUT. By now it is after 3PM he needs to go get his Son at Sitter. He calls my Boss--who had left work around 12:30 (LONG day for him). Tells my Boss what's up and he needs to email Enviro Guys Boss. My Boss is too "Busy" so
Enviro Guy gets on his Blackberry and does it. Said just don't let anyone in Office this weekend--I go find only other person beside Co. Carpenter with key to my Office. Tell him Enviro Guy said to hang note on door "Office Closed this weekend due to "Construction" Construction my Ass. MOLD freaks some companies out I suppose. Look, I was in Management with this Company a long time. I know too much.
Come Monday someone better get their shit together and have the
folks out that are suppose to test this shit and find out what the hell this is. It was weird.

Vicki said...

Sorry previous post so long--long story, long day.

Dirty Disher said...

Vicky, I can't believe your boss had never seen white mold. I live in the humidity capitol of the world, mold comes in all colors. Most common is black and white. Also comes in fuzzy, hairy, bubbly, slick, stinky, goopy, dry and just plain icky.

miss tia said...

vicki--- i would go to the dr. and tell them you were exposed to white mold! that can't be good for your health! don't go back into that office it's all gone and properly cleaned!!

beth---hope you're doing well!!!

Vicki said...

DD, I know my Boss just was taking the "Company" side in saying he never heard of this. Like I said, I know too much and that is why I am no longer in Management.
I resigned.
Miss Tia, good advise. I will call
on Monday. Thanks:)

Good luck Biz! The third time is the charm, or so the saying goes. I hope it's true and that you get to move up into a larger home.
Congratulations to Angie! You are going to have so much fun, and kudos to the parents-to-be for sharing it so early on. They must love you a lot to include you at this point.
I'm glad you had that revelation, Miss Tia. If this hadn't happened, you would have gone on taking it, feeling worse and worse.
Good luck with the new business, Daphne! I hope your business idea is genius, and that it takes off right away.
Crabbie--have a drink for me, please.
Vickie---Hope they get your office decontaminated in a hurry. It's hard to say how much harm any particular mold will do. Just better that they get the lead out and take care of it quick.

As for me, I am off for the next three days (woo-hoo) and I spent the mid-morning and early afternoon delivering some eggs to the hospital, and then shopping garage sales. The historic area of our town is having their annual neighborhood sale this weekend, so I don't know if we will have ours tomorrow or not. Over 100 sales in that area. I quit when it got up into the 90's. I did find a few good things, though. Old, flowery postcards from the 1900-1917 era for 20 cents apiece, old rick-rack and braid, in the original packages from JC Penney (it says 8 cents a package on the front) for 10 cents apiece. Small (tiny, really) dishes like Martha Stewart uses for her measured spices when she is cooking for 25 cents for a set, etc. Small items, but I love 'em.
My husband got his first real paycheck after returning to work, and it is smaller than I was hoping for, but I guess he was sick one day with a migraine, and another day with pink eye, so what do I expect?
Went shopping after that, planned on lunch with my husband and son, but my husband called to let me know they were having a cook-out at work. Of course he called after I had already been to the deli counter and had meats, etc. doled out.
I am feeling better today. The past few days have been so sad, after having to cull my little Twiggy. This is a better day.
I treated each flock to their own chunk of watermelon, to make sure they stay hydrated. I can hardly wait for the new coop to be finished.

Christina said...

Oh, and I'm sorry you had a bad day, Beth. I hope the next ones are better.

back to the little cones....i bet they are may day flower holders....they just seem magical to me....very enchanted looking...

I get pink mold in my toilets.

Dirty Disher said...

I saw bright red mold once. It was scary.

Vicki said...

DD, on a brighter note, I am enjoying your flower pics:)

I've gotten pink mold on my shower curtain before.
Your place is really beautiful, Pat. You have a way with plants.

Angie! I just found out I have a grandbaby coming in April also. It's my 2nd grandchild but the first baby for this son and DIL. I'm the only one who knows. They haven't even told my husband yet. (They know he has a big mouth) My son's a nurse and DIL is a kindergarten teacher, yet they are both so nervous but very happy. I remember that feeling.
Congratulations to both of us!

We'll have to compare notes along the way.

Anon 3:53: I could tell you what you can do with that chip, but I will refrain myself. Have a nice day.

Anonymous said...

Dear Anon 3:53,
Just buy the whole crate or lot, eat them all, then sit your butts in front of the tv. That ought to keep you amused enough to stop bothering the "psychics", and would probably be good for your health LOL!
Beth in Seville

Dirty Disher said...

I'd advise the anon to buy the chips in front. They're full of bad energy and child snot.

Angie said...

Congratulations Peg!! It's a pretty cool club to join, I'm thinking :) I bought a little sleeper yesterday. I could care less what sex the baby is and I don't know that I ever said and MEANT that when I was pregnant...LOL I think a little girl would be really fun to buy for, but as soon as they told me, I just felt like it was a boy. This is my own personal test to see if I can sense things :)

Dirty Disher said...

Girls used to be the most fun to buy for, but, now they make awesome boy baby clothes too. I just bought Gabe a Harley outfit. He was "born to ride." So cute.

Angie said...

You're right, they have some terribly cute things out there for boys, too. Either way, I'm anticipating bankruptcy...LOL

Dirty Disher said...

Oh, that'll do it. LOL.
