Open Post

I have to go to the doctor and get poked and proded. I have my pants on and a bra, but, I can't find my 'goin' to the doctor' shirt. My appointment is in 10 minutes and I'm still here because I can not get my shit together. I'll be back to blog some more later. What have you got to say?

i'm still waiting for the fucking ENT my dr. referred me to to call me to make an appointment! ARGH! once i get more coffee in me i'll be calling that office and scheduling my own appointment!!!

my dr. thought i might be a good candidate for tubes in my ears....so i will see....this congestion has gotta get dealt with!!!

and my eyes are so dry i can't put in contacts again today :( I HATE WEARING MY GLASSES DURING THE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

miss tia said...

PS: good luck at the dr. today DD!!

Good Luck DD! Hope you have a great check-up. & Tia, my dear...sorry to tell you this but the ENT will probably tell you to lay off the caffeine. I cannot drink coffee or any Diet Pepsi anymore. But its ok. I drink my lemon water & I love it. Something in caffeine makes the ears react in a not good way. Probably the spike you get from it. I am not sure. The ear tubes will change your life girl. I am jelez! I am not a candidate. I am too far gone and 50% deaf anyways. It wouldn't help my sitch anyways. Hope you get them.

well rox, i have TWO CUPS of instant coffee every morning and that has 1/2 the caffeine as brewed coffee....and other than that i don't drink any other caffeine and if they tell me to give that up, they can go fuck themselves!

For some reason that picture makes me feel like I'm going to fall off a cliff. Hope not, that would hurt.

Good luck w/ your appointment. Hoping for good results :)
I have a Dr appointment on Tues. Know he's going to yell at me. I canceled my MRI appointment this week & I'm going to get read the riot act. Sorry Doc, can't afford the $$$, and I know he wants to tell me to have surgery. Can't afford that either. I've lived with my RA for 7 years, I can cope with a non-functioning wrist for a few more.

Good Luck DD!

My son broke his wrist falling off the slide at the lake over the weekend. He has a Buckled Fracture. Go back in 4 weeks to take off the cast.

Had/have problems with his sperm donor. I had his girlfriend on my facebook, stupid mistake in the first place. I finally decided to delete her when I realized they were using it to spy on me and know my every move.

He sent me a text telling me that I have his number but can't call him? I did have a number for him but it wasn't the same he sent the text from. Argued with me that I had it. He told his sister that he was going to hire a lawyer because I didn't call him and he had to find out from facebook.

I told him that if he had been a more involved father I would have thought to call him. That was on Monday I haven't heard from him since. He knows my number if he wants to find out how J is doing he can call. I am not going to be calling him to tell him everything when he is capable of picking up the phone and calling himself and being more involved.

He hardly calls maybe once a year if that. He comes to see him around his birthday/christmas because he knows his dad leaves money at his sisters house for him.

The last time he called was 2 months ago on Father's day. During the entire conversation he talked about himself and wanted to know what was going on in my love life which is none of his business. The only thing he said about Jackson was he finally had his christmas present and hopefully have another one when he comes at christmas. That was it.

What infuriated me the most was there was one day his g/f posted "I am so lucky to have such a great man who takes care of me and my kids" I wanted so bad to be a bitch and say well at least he takes care of yours cause he sure as hell doesn't take care of his own.

Gah, I just wish he would take a long walk off a short pier.

dramz cuz...how old are you? Anyway, I am not attacking you b/c I think you will respond and I am not attacking you. As you said this is an open post and people can say what they want. I am making the observation that you are a very negative person and I couldn't quite understand why you were calling the cops on a kid that technically did nothing. You wrote it and I responded. Are you the only one allowed to respond to other's posts? I am not hiding I can put up a fake name if you would like. I will from now on go as Penny and I will sign all my posts as such. Almost everyone on here is anonymous but I guess as long as a "fake name" is attached all is good.....

thanks DD!! i hope you know how much we all appreciate and love you! (don't wanna get all sappy on ya, but it's true!)....i truly am so lucky to have you and my other friends i've made here in my life!!

miss tia said...

penny....huh....not worth more than a cent huh? haha....had to make that joke!!! but yeah, you pretty much admit you're using a fake name.....

i live in the ghetto and there's a lot of break ins, rapes, etc....if some punk ass kid is gonna trespass what's to say he wouldn't be breaking into houses?? i'd call the cops because they would want to talk to someone like that....i know many police officers and they appreciate such tips because it could lead to them breaking an ongoing case....i wouldn't waste their time if i saw someone jay walking for example....

this is DD's site and i think it would be great if we could be nice to each other and have some sense of decorum and respect.....you can disagree with me til the cows come home...that sure is your right....but to attack me and what i say? i dunno....just seems wrong to me and didn't we just go through that??? we resolve one issue and up pops something else similar....

have a nice weekend penny....

scared? WTF is there to be scared of?? Honestly, you think that? LOL!!! Thats a good one. made my day. & umm...in case you live in a remote cave on a remote island, there are criminals climbing over fences everyday to break into houses and mostly during daytime hours. Just because its a kid don't mean a damn thing!! Vandals are mostly kids. Tia, its called the "Make My Day" law or the "Stand your Ground" law. Look 'em up. Totally legal to protect your property. If you start allowing that kind of bahavior in the neighborhood kids , pretty soon they would have a path worn thru your yard & you would have escaped dogs everyday. Dayum, STFU anon. This is a place to post w/e we feel like saying. It's not a rainbows & lollipops fairyland site. Doesn't DD's header say something about "bitching it out"? LOL!!! So, yea, we do. & we got each others backs too. If you don't like our little group you can go elsewhere. & anon, I think we know who you are too. So, it ain't workin' this way either. Jeez...ain't you tired yet??? Love you DD. Peace out.

You guys keep saying you know who I am, that I do NOT get at all. I am a random person sitting in my house reading Pat's blog which I enjoy - it does not mean I have to enjoy reading the rantings of all the others who read it. Why does that matter? Funny how I can not say anything to Tia Windsor but you are all allowed to attack me? Hypocrites.

& BTW...why isn't that kid in school? School started around here last week & this week. So, everybody is back in school now. So, that kid already has a big strike against him. A woman living alone in a sketchy area has to instill some fear in those kids or they will eat her alive. Call the cops anyways, he's obviously a truant. & probably up to no good.

Theresa,
Your ex sounds like a piece of shit. He doesn't deserve a son if that is how he behaves. HOWEVER, if you do everything possible to keep him up to date on your son's life, then he has no argument against you. Do you have a trusted, calm friend or relative that could contact him with pertinent news about your son?
Your ex sounds like a clueless douche, so the best way to deal with people like that is to treat them like the mentally deficiant slugs they are. He wants information? OK, so inundate him with information. You just don't want him to have anything to complain about as far as YOUR behavior is concerned. I know it's hard.
Maybe Twitter?
good luck and hope your son heals fast and sound.

Penny/ anon ~ A fence is meant to keep somethings in and other things out. It means this is a restricted area - Do Not Enter. If Tia saw an unknown stranger climbing over her fence she has every right to protect herself and her property. Whether it's with a golf club, letting the dogs loose, spraying them with a can of mace or calling the cops. It's her property, not theirs.

Dear Penny,
If you like DD's blog, that's great. Obviously we all do as well, or we wouldn't be commenting, bitching, etc. If you feel threatened, or just don't enjoy the commenting, then there's a solution. Read the blog... she really writes some great, thought-provoking stuff, and don't click on the "comments" at the end of her entry..... that way, EVERYONE'S happy, and you aren't offended....

Have a great day! :)

Thank you Penny, for choosing a name. That's all I ask.

Miss Tia, I totally agree that kid had no business back there. I tend to ignore them here and then they get up to something. Every time. Last time, they stole something out of my car. I should have yelled at them at first like you did.

sally said...

On the fence subject, I live in a somewhat sketchy area of Mpls. Every spring there is some sort of crime spree in our "hood", we have a community meeting, and whatever cop is there PLEADS with us to call 911 whenever ANYTHING out of the ordinary happens. A kid climbing fences and trying to get into back yards is out of the ordinary. ESPECIALLY IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE KID.
This year, we have been doorbell ditched so many times by the little snot nosed fuckers around here that we finally just disconnected our doorbell. I would have called the cops, but we were able to identify the kids and tell their parents. It's just what you do when you live in a crime prone area.

miss tia said...

it was just luck i looked out my window when i did!!! if they get away with it once, they'll keep doing it! i'm glad i saw him and if i see him around today or tomorrow i'll call the cops....and i'll yell at him AGAIN!

one of the hood kids had his ipod stolen out of his back pocket by some guy walking down our street!!! middle of the day, he's on his bike in front of his house and the guy grab it out of his back pocket and took off! the kid was just frozen in shock for a minute!!!

i've had stuff stolen out of my vehicle too....sucks :(

Good Luck Pat!

Ran the usual Friday errands today. I think we are going to have chicken quesadillas for dinner tonite.
Hubs is still dizzy. They have ruled out BPPV as the cause. Now we are waiting for Wednesday to hear what his upper endoscopy results are. They said nothing horrendous but they want to talk to him about the results in the office.
His FMLA was approved today..Phew! That is a load off our brains. Now he will have to go to the ENT again or the Neuro..Do not know where this will lead.

I am FINALLY going to finish making my strawberry jam tomorrow. I have been talking about it all week long but never got a chance to just sit down and do it. Then I did and found out that I was out of canning jars! I was shocked. I bought all my jars at yard sales and they are all gone!
So I had to go buy retail..ugh!
Lulu goes to the groomer tomorrow for her last summer trim.
My life is just about the same every day with little bumps in the road but otherwise okay.
Have a good weekend all!

there's a lot of cases in akron where people pound on someone's door in the middle of the night and people ANSWER IT!!! they then attack them and steal their stuff!! one woman was murdered by shots fired next to her door because she wouldn't answer!!

a friend of mine from school who's in the army suggested i get a loud recording of cocking a shot gun to play if someone pounds on my door in the middle of the night! and i'd be calling 911 too!!

years ago some crackheads broke into a neighbor's house in the middle of the day and i called 911 and followed them in my car until the police got 'em...one had a long ass history for crimes and he was like 56!

gotta be vigilant!

thanks! they said the referral was for vertigo and i made it clear it was to see if i was a candidate for tubes in my ears and i would NOT do vestibular therapy! she was a little taken a back but i said i didn't want to waste my time or their time....she noted that and said that the dr. did do tubes in the ears and he would discuss that with me...i mean, i know they have to assess me, etc....but i wanted to get it out there i would NOT do that vestibular therapy because my vertigo is caused by CONGESTION and no vestibular therapy is gonna prevent me from being congested!

I'm a little ashamed of myself, today. It is 12:13 and I am still sitting here in my nightie. My husband took care of the birds, and I fed and watered the pups. I had a home-made egg McMuffin for breakfast, followed by fiber gummies, and a caramel drumstick.
Yesterday was my fourth 12-hour shift in a row. It was grueling for me as I was in the special care nursery all day. I'm tired, and wanted to go to the fair, but haven't made a move, yet.
One of my Cuckoo Marans is broody. I want to go to the fair, and see if anyone in the poultry area has a few (maybe three) fertile eggs for hatching. Petunia is so far all fluffed up, has lined her little nest with her breast feathers, and is determinedly sitting on two pretty pink golf balls. I think it would be nice to give her babies. My husband says no, but, well, who cares what he says. He said no to more babies years ago, and I will forever regret that.
Tomorrow is my birthday---54. I had hoped to go to the coast for the day, but it's the annual Hungarian picnic, so I guess I know where I will be. Sigh.
I also need to shop at Costco, as we are almost at the end of that bale of toilet paper. I love getting those. I don't have to think about it again for at least a month and a half.
My husband secretly bought me a computer video game. He got a used copy on ebay (we already have it, but the disc is lost somewhere, as all three of us love to play it)---Pandora's Box--Microsoft. Multiple puzzles set in multiple countries, with a mythological theme regarding Pan and Pandora's Box. I played last night, and again this morning. Maybe I'll play some more now.
Have a great day, and good luck with your doctor's appointment, Pat.

Happy Early Birthday Christina!!!

Happy early Birthday too, Christina!

Today we woke up at 6am at 47 degrees! The trees are now gonna freak out and start changing colors. I went back to bed around 8:30 for a quick nap and the cat snuggled real tight. Gotta take advantage of those morning naps and sleeping in now cause by the end of September they won't be happening anymore! will have to get up at 530am to get ready to commute to school!

Tia good luck on the doctor!!! We have a 'no trespassing, no hunting, no anything' sign. Our neighborhood is pretty quiet, there is a break-in every once in a great while, but we have a good network of neighbors. A friend of ours has a huge sign on his garage that reads 'attention thieves, death is just a twitch of the finger away'. You do whatever it takes to defend your property and your life, and you cannot take any chances. Little punks could be armed and you could get killed for all you know.

sally said...

Yes Miss Tia,
I know. That's why I have a 22 in my closet--for the cocking noise. Now I just need to get a handgun for back up! It's also why I don't disconnect my land line even though it costs us $50 a month, cause you can dial 911, not say a thing--and they will see your address. When I can get my cell to have that technology, only then will I feel safe closing down the land line.
I love my neighborhood, I love living among all kinds of different people. But you have to be realistic--sometimes desperate people do desperate things. Like you say, vigilence is key!

miss tia said...

sally---check with your cell service!! most of them now have that capability of seeing your location via 911!! also see if you can get rid of some landline frills to lessen your bill!!

i love my house and for the most part my hood, but it takes a lot of vigilance....cops can't do it all on their own!

Pandora's Box the Microsoft version is different from the Twilight series, though I have very little knowledge about Twilight, really.
I was able to find it, to buy, on ebay, Amazon, half.com, etc. but even used, it really isn't cheap. Too bad as it is an older game and I thought that maybe I might find it at a garage/yard sale last weekend.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes, everyone!

I'm the same way about my glasses, Miss Tia. I think your Doc is on the right track about tubes. I know of 2 adults who were totally miserable on a daily basis and once they had the tubes inserted have never had a problem again. Let us know.

i don't think this was twilight based christina.....it just said vampire saga and i read the description and it said your character sneaks onto a book to escape the spanish american war drama and wakes up in a mysterious place! i might play it anyway to check it out....i have quite a few wild coins!

thanks nancyb! i am hoping they can do tubes in the ear as that fluid has GOT to get out!!! if they don't want to do that, i might just go to another one who'll do it!! aside from that i have no clue what an ENT would do for me because i have tried all the nasal sprays, rx allergy pills, etc.....
