Seriously! I remember my school lunches when I used to go to HS here in the US....the one in Renton had the french fries, pizza and burgers. The one in West Palm Beach had the nastiest greasiest pizza, they had some nasty looking food, and they had two fast food chain vendors in the cafeteria: Taco bell and pizza hut. This was 93-94.

I like her a lot and think she's a great role-model for American moms. She's black, good-looking, well-educated etc and is trying to alter the toxic things we take for granted in First World life. She's not saying anything radical or new, just promoting good habits so Americans can slim down.
Anyway, you know all that, but I'm envious that we Canadians don't have such a great couple running OUR show. (Have you seen our Prime Couple? REally embarrassing!)
Nat, I'm trying to think how to respond to that. Better than the bumbling drunken idiot we had before, but, I am not fond of the Obama's this week. I didn't care for the tone of his 9/11 speach and I don't think she should be suggesting what private business's put on their menu.

BUT...my GOD we have the M. Spurlock's (super size me) out there letting us know that 'fast food' is 'fat food'. Michelle is a product of public schools...she knows better. Yep, I've posted about Jamie and the teacher who ate school lunch. Common sense should tell Michelle Obama to lay off restaurants and go for the school lunches, because they're forced. Packing lunch can be argued, but, not many kids have never eaten a school lunch. who the fuck cares what a restaurant puts on the menu?

Actually, you can credit the Reagan administration for deciding that ketchup qualifies as a vegetable serving in school lunches. They dumbed everything down to save money in schools. I was so ashamed of having him as our president. I'm getting to feel that way about the Obamas, too.

@Nattie, oh boy is our Prime couple embarassing, can't stand either of them. Smug, arrogant rednecks. We don't live far from them & everytime we drive by the PM's official residence I keep expecting to hear the music from HeeHaw blaring. That "Ima grinin' & Ima pickin'"
People forget that balcks are very racist. Even against each other. I remember being told by a black woman that one of her sosn was marrying a light skinned black gal & they were all so happy about that. They all want to eventually be white, see? & when they marry white & make babies, the families rejoice. Used to anyways. Now the younger black women resent it when a black man chooses to date white women. But who's racist now? It's a vicious circle, truly vicious.
School lunches here are very fattening, lots of potatoes, breads & pizza. I was a high school lunch lady for a while. You cant believe some of the stuff! Its worse now, its ALL premade/fake food & just warmed up at the school.

Sorry I still remember Reagan as a hero after the joke Carter. But also feel that life in the US was great during the Clinton admin . Bush jr was never as dumb as he was made out to be but no he want a great prez. Just better than the Dems offered. Obama horrible but McCalin just as bad. Really we need a third party because I am not impressed with either party right now. Sorry if my spelling is bad.
