I'd like Glee, if it wasn't for that infernal singing. Heh. I used to be a theatre person and was lucky enough to be involved in one of real talent and Lea so reminds me of a communal housemate I had. That woman and her little dog too..as I thought of her.. was the source of much amusment among the cast.
lol, i know right, musicals can drive me bananas, but i like this well enuf to bear thru it. u were in theatre? wow, that's awesome dd. i bet u were very entertaining ^_^... and her little dog too, hehehe, was she dorothy?
I love Glee! I really like Lea Michele, except that this just reminds me again, how much better she looked last season as opposed to now. She lost way too much weight, and there are times she simply looks gaunt. Kind-of like some of the other lolly pop heads in Hollywood. That makes me sad, as she is very talented. I love the clip of the audition. If I remember correctly, immediately prior to that audition, she was in a car accident right outside the studio, and ran inside to do her song while still brushing the glass out of her hair. The way she stopped and corrected the pianist made it clear she was "Rachel". It's just her personality, I think. I really like the musical aspect of it, I'm a bit surprised to say, though from what I've read, they are going to cut back on the musical numbers a bit. The cast was on Oprah some months ago, and they had the John Burroughs Powerhouse (high school choir) on the show as well. It's on youtube---their version of "Vogue" was very cool.
My brother likes "Glee". I don't watch it. From what I hear it's gotten very heavy on the stunt-casting. That's usually a bad sign. I think it will end up burning out soon if they're already resorting to stunt casting in only season 2.
I always hear Lea is stuck-up. I heard that she and Jane Lynch were at a party and both were approached by fans. Jane signed autographs, while Lea went to a security guard and complained that she was being pestered. Ugh. I will take Jane over Lea any day.
Ann, she was more like "bump it with a trumpet" ..LMAO. Me..I was the bartender, poster & ad maker, set painter, pretend reluctant bit part player and umm..director groupie. An exciting life.
Christina-stunt-casting is when a TV show casts a celebrity in a guest role, just for the sake of casting a celebrity. It adds nothing to the storyline and is used solely to attract the celebrity's fans to the show. For example, "Glee" cast Britney Spears for their newest episode. Apparently, she only had a few minutes of screentime and added nothing to the plot, except all her fans tuned in to watch and were all OMG BRITNEY'S ON "GLEE"! LOOK THERE SHE IS, OMG!!!
Sometimes stunt-casting is kind of fun, but usually it's just annoying, and a lazy way for a celebrity to get more attention.
i loved the brits episode. the brittany s. pears character has a dance background, so it was totally awesome to see her break loose in her talent, and there where other background dancers i recognized. i dance, so love to see current dance numbers in tv shows. gives me hope ^_^. as for brittany spears, it all a sad mess.
I was surprised they didn't have a cameo by Lady Gaga when they did her songs. What was a little sad to me was how old and used up Brittney Spears looked, compared to the others, in that episode. Of course the fact that Charice, who is only 18 or so, had botox done before the show so she could look "fresh" is disgusting. She looked about 13 to me, and I'm not sure if she will be back or if it was a "one-off", too.
