For the past two weeks I've struggled at work. I never have trouble reading cards, but, lately, all I hear are dead people. I guess if you're a client of mine, skip this week, unless you have a dead person you want to talk to.The Tower is a bad card. If you get that, you should be worried. Just thought I'd pass that on. Everyone thinks it's the Death card, but, Death is a good card. That fucking Tower will fuck you every time.

i think it was kim in another post who asked you if you could recommend a starter tarot deck or beginner's book.....can you?
i have an astrology book that because i was born on the 16th assigns me this card....
Ive always wanted to have a reading with the cards, but im cheap! lol i went to a place here that wanted $60 for a card reading and $100 for the crystal ball..really?
last time i went to a reader, which was years ago, the psychic charged me $30 for a half hour---$50 for an hour....i went to an astrologist and they charged me $50 for an hour and i got a full print out of my future horoscope and she gave me a tape of our meeting so i could refer to it....
i have never seen a psychic with a crystal ball! dunno how i'd feel about that....i bet that witch shop by me sells 'em!!
If you want to try Tarot reading, any book will do. Start by memorising one key word for each of the major arcana. Go from there. Do the same with the minor acrana and reversals. Juxtapositions, ect.
Then throw it all out and look between the lines.
I have a crystal ball. I don't understand what I see in it. But, I'll bet there are people who do. Same with cards. They don't speak to everyone.
tarot cards have always made me somewhat nervous and i do not know why.....i can't even pick them up in a store....
maybe i'll read about them on the 'net and make my own!
i was looking in my area for a place that does psychic development and could find zilch....one site referred people to that witch shop! i wish the one psychic in kent hadn't moved out west....she was excellent and ethical!
If cards make you nervous, they probably aren't for you. There's so many other things to try though.
It was really a surprise to me when I found the Tarot. I had no idea cards could speak like that. They just work for me. Other things, not so much.
what else could i try? i only have heard of tarot cards.....i would like to try something!
I wouldn't mind paying if I knew the person. But I'm really afraid of a fake. I would think they could mess you up in more ways than one. But I definitely need guidance.
Oh, most of the stuff you can try doesn't cost much, if anything. Try pendulum work, rune stones, water or fire scrying, table tapping, ouija and other boards, tossing bones. Look up tools of divination and try 'em all. Something might work.
I had cards when I was on my early 20s. I freaked myself out and the person I read for. It was eerie. I guess I could try it again. I am older and not so easily scared.
i think i'll look into rune stones...that might explain why i am sometimes drawn to pebbles i find!
thanks! i'll let ya know how it goes!
Bayou, just take it as entertainment. That's all it should be. A lot of times I can see stuff coming, but, I can't stop it. Long stories, but, you know what I mean. 'Specially matters of the heart and people ask about it anyway. At least when I talk to the dead I give people comfort and I like that.
You can make your own runes too. Noelle made me some. They're nice, but, they don't talk to me.
i'll check with noelle about that! thanks!!
if i see something about someone it just comes to me when i look at them....nothing additional needed....if i am relaxed (very rare! HAHA!) i can walk into a store or something and look at someone and bam! i know what's gonna happen to them....but it's not i can say 'excuse me, you're going to be hit by a drunk driver and get a broken leg'.....
and i don't know how i feel about contacting people who have passed...i'd rather not disturb them....i figure if they got something to say they'll contact me...which has happened...
i wouldn't make a good psychic for peoples!
But, that's just it. I don't contact them, they contact me.
well i knew they contacted you, but i have heard about others who profess to be able to contact others...which i think is wrong....if someone has something to say they'll tell you....and if someone comes to you to try to contact someone, well that someone will know about it....that's how i think things should be.....
there's way too many scam artists around here...there's one down the street from me who professes to ensure 'love potions'....'win true love back'....what kind of fuckery is that?? then there's that fucking witch shop pushing 'starter witch kits'....those things piss me off...they are taking advantage of peoples who want to learn and/or are vulnerable in their life....
I have an phone appointment scheduled with a medium for this December. She was booking a year and a half out when I made it. She is known for her ability to talk to the dead. Since both my parents have passed, I'd like to know if they have anything they want to say to me. The phone thing was kind of weird, but I guess if she's booking that far out, she must be credible, right?
I had my cards read when I was about 18 or 20 and it really made my life miserable for a while. Turns out, the old gal was a crook and fed on things I had told her to read my friend's cards and so on. It turned me off to having my cards read somewhat... I have had other people read things (hands, aura, etc...) and what they said came a lot closer to what ended up happening or what was really me than what the cow had foreseen (none of it really amounted to anything at the end).
There are two sides. I'm a person too. I get sick of people thinking they can control me with money. They want me to tell them they have angel guides, winning lotto numbers, or that their boyfriend's wife is a cunt. Shit like that. And they harp on it and try and lead me into it. It pisses me off.
I can see that getting tiring, DD. You should know why you are going to get your cards read and that does not include lottery numbers or how to deal with a boyfriend who won't leave his wife...
Angie, if she's real, you'll know. Keep an open mind and answer her question too. Let us all know how it turns out.
I actually do get lucky numbers sometimes and I give them. Or which machine will pay out. It's okay with me. I was talking about shit heads who do bad things and want me to justify it. They suck.
the shit heads who do stuff like that go to the ones who usually will do that....gee, did that make sense?
i'll try to translate....people who to go 'psychics' to get lottery #s, love potions, etc and 'psychics' who do that---telling them what they want to hear, building up false hopes, etc and having zero psychic ability creates a negative impression of true psychics...
when those people go to a REAL psychic they get a different experience and for some it'll be a very welcome change and for others it'll be a letdown....
a neighbor of mine at another place, her daughter went to a 'psychic' and that 'psychic' told her that her parents would die if she didn't go buy her a certain type of shirt from kaufmans'! then she was suppose to pay her $185 for a curse removal spell!!! the poor girl came home HYSTERICAL freaking out that she had to go buy that shirt and give her the money....her mom and i went to that psychic and got her money back for that day's 'reading' and we turned her into the BBB....i told her a few things about being an ethical psychic too.....
miss tia ~ would you be interested in a road trip ... maybe next spring or summer to Lily Dale NY? (think they close down late in the fall). I've always been curious, but don't know crap about this stuff.
Does any one know anything about reincarnation? I'm open minded about it ... don't know of any good reason why it can't happen. My biggest question about it is... why do all the people I know who say they lived in a past life always say they were a Queen of the Nile, Indian Princess or from some royal family in Europe in the 1500s? Why were none of them ever farmers, maids or the shoe shine boy? I have been able to trace several sides of my family back to England and Germany to the mid 1400s and none of them were famous. Guess I just have boring relatives.
CJ-
I have a strong belief in reincarnation. I have held these beliefs since I was a child. No one in my family except for my father believed as I do. A book that I found facinating is: Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weiss. Angie, I am very interested in knowing updates once you have your Dec. appointment!
DD- I did not know that people who have passed on contact you. That is so wonderful! If you were closer to me I would so much like to know that my Mom is OK. I've always believed that my Dad is OK. He also kept his promise to me.I had repeatedly requested that after he passed and when he could, if he would come to me in some way, any way, in physical form or any way, that it would not scare me, that it would confirm that what I've always believed about the body dying but the soul going on was true and would bring me great comfort. About 6 weeks after he died I was all night unpacking boxes (we had just moved) and all of a sudden I heard his voice call my name and I turned around quick and just as I did the front door closed and simultaneously my Mom walked into the family room where I was. I think my Dad had been in her room. She was the only one who believed me. (her views on reincarnation changed from that time on...before she died a few yrs later she would tell me that we should be sisters in the next lifetime and that way we would have so much more time together!) All of my siblings and husband think I made it all up but I didn't. It was real and it brought me so much comfort that my Dad kept his promise.
CJ to answer your question in part, is if people want customers & to make money they tend to tell their clients whatever they believe they want to hear. Most people who pay a boatload of cash don't want to hear that they're a 16th century Polish serf that was worked to death by the age of 20 or a Welsh farm wife who died in childbirth at age 16 in the 15th century. When people tell things like that clients take their business elsewhere or so I've seen & been told. It's about business, not about the truth.
People want to hear that they were a king or a queen, especially if they're people with a lot of cash or they see themselves as powerful. Telling Donald Trump he was a chimney sweep in the Victorian era who died in a chimney because he was too big & got stuck, is not likely to gain you repeat business from him, regardless of if it's true or not. It's a lot of ego stroking & fibbing that I personally find extremely distasteful. The fact is, most of these people are likely the regular every day people, but that doesn't sell & a lot of people are in this for the money first & foremost.
If you wish to believe in reincarnation then you also need to understand that people are likely to have had many more than just one lifetime & yet most people who've gone for reincarnation regression or whatever it's called, that I've spoken to tend only find out about one lifetime & it's not likely that they've only ever lived once. Many are supposed to have lived 100's of times. It's not the easiest of things to explain & I hope I haven't confused you. If I have say so & I'll try to untangle it. :)
I don't know if you've ever read Edgar Cayce or any of the others who were said to explore reincarnation. Edgar Cayce is supposed to have a book that helps you figure out or get an impression of some of your own past lives. There are a few authors on the subject, some sound very credible & others sound completely out to lunch.
It can be an interesting read just to see the different ideas & opinions. Even if you do come across a psychic/ author that you think is an absolute quack you can usually find a gem or two buried in all the other crappy information they're spewing, at least that's been my experience.
NancyB & Can't See Sheep ~ thanks for the info. Guess I have some reading to do, for some basic knowledge. I know several people that make these claims. Was with one yesterday and this subject came up again (I've known her for 30 years). I know she's had readings in the past, but not for many years... also she claims to be phychic. (with her I have doubts). She has claimed all these wonderful past lives... the snark in me always wants to say... 'so how come you're just a average person this time around?' A lot of my disbelief in her is from knowing her and observing for all these years. She only brings up the psychic part when it suits the situation. Don't think I'm explaining this correctly, haven't had my coffee yet.
what's in Lily Dale NY???
re: reincarnation, i totally believe in it....i truly believe i was a pirate in a past life---i have always, even as a little kid---knew nautical terms with origin of knowing that knowledge....i also believe in another life i was somehow electrocuted as i have a really bizarre paranoia about electricity.....
Edgar Cayce!!! i need to find that book he has about reincarnation! he was great!
I do not want to know the furture. So far not much good has ever happened, except for having my kids. So, I think I will just stay with the old saying "Ignorance is bliss"...I do not wanna know how, why, when or where I will die either. That would freak me out and put me in a panic & I'd prob die right there on the spot from fright! Not necessary to know the future. The Bible tried to predict the future but it's so vague and it's like who knows how that would actually apply and its just men writing it and making the rules. Like Nostradamus, I love how they take his predictions and go back in time & say that he was talking about this or that but only "after" it has happened. It would have been nice to know about 9-11 before it happened! So, whats the point? Its just not necessary. I say enjoy life today & live it & love those that you love. Thats enough for me to know.
xoxo

okay i looked up that place in NY.....i dunno....they have spiritualist meetings in kent---closer!!! i bet they have some in cleveland too!!
where i'm from in clinton, iowa they had/have? a spiritualist camp....of course i was never allowed by it because they were 'weird'.....
That's another thing that pisses me off. People ask me about past lives. Does my sign say "Past Life Reader?" No, it says Tarot. They also ask me to read their palm or their astrology chart. Fuck. It's not all the same and I get tired of that shit.
yep....different arts....i have some books by cherio....i have his palm reading one and his book of numbers---which i find fascinating!
The thought of reincarnation terrifies me. Who's to say you won't come back as a chinese slave, or a Palin, or the daughter a crazy muslim? Your next life could be a torturous horror scene. I say count your blessings in the here and now--live for today!
Edgar Cayce's books are all wonderful. If you Google EdgarCayce.org you will get the Institute's wev site in Virginia Beach.CJ, I would listen to your inner voice that has doubts about the person that you described. JMO
