Trapped miner's escape pod

The latest idea for saving those 33 trapped Chilean miners is this escape pod. They'll pull them up through a hole 2,300 feet through the rock. Holy mofo shit bombs. I'd make them give me a cyanide capsule in case it got stuck. Can you even imagine?? I've jumped from 2,300 feet and all I thought at the time was, holy mofo shit bombs, that's high. I can't even imagine being surrounded by solid rock. They have to medicate me. More than usual, I mean.

tonya and i are following this closely....i can't even imagine how those miners are coping.....

and of course the mine company is going to go bankrupt and probably won't pay those guys a dime....

OMG!! If I thought about this hard enough, I'd have a total panic-attack!! I was gonna say I hope none of them are claustrophobic, but I guess if they work in tunnels in a mine, they're not. But crap!! That's beyond a tight-squeeze!!
My hands are getting clammy, so I'm signing off now!
Love your blog!!!!

Yep. I'd need some meds, please. That's like 1/2 mile, right? What about the 1 or 2 miners that are/were overweight? I'm hoping they account for ALL body sizes and hopefully by the time they are able to get them ALL out...those guys have dropped a few lbs. How could they not? (I'm serious about those meds...lol, I think to myself that I hope they are even sending them VICODIN-horse size down there now...XANAX?...something!)

Or they can just stay where they are.

Guess I'd have to opt for the joy ride from hell!

OT: every day it seems the daily mail UK is running articles about k8!! she's now in mexico with her bf, i mean bodyguard! WTF is she doing in mexico?!?!? the comments against her are brilliant!!

Those body tubes are pretty much the way I feel when I'm flying commercial - at least they get to stretch out....

Seriously, chosing to take a short trip to freedom in a body tube vs staying underground for another three months is a pretty obvious choice - although, I just heard that they got tv yesterday.

Maybe Kate will be kidnapped on her little excursion. Nah. They will figure out who she is and dump her out of the get away car!

I would freak out if I had to go in that pod too. Because of all the crap that has been going on in my life , I am kinda out of the loop with some things. I know everything that is going on with these miners except why is it going to be so hard to free them.
Why cant they just blast them out like they do for other miners that are trapped? I guess I could look it up but if you all could give me a quick tut on it..thanks.,

I know I should know this but my brain can only handle so much and my family was on my mind before.

Would not hesitate in their situation -- what other options do they have?! But, phew, that will be a looooong, sloooooow, way up to the surface. Would need a stiff drink before doing that - and I don't drink hard liquor.

i just saw an article that the company won't be able to pay them---but they will have to keep working to clear the debris so they can be rescued!!! WTF?!?!? i think the mine owner should be sent down to that hole for 4 months minimum after the men are rescued!

I'd do it rather than stay down there until Christmas...I would hate to be the very first one to go up in a pod though.

It's just a horrifying situation no matter how you look at it.

This is the time to have an actual "Transporter". I couldnt do this. I would have an axiety attack and suffocate & be dead when I got to the top, or at least feel that way! Not paying them? Seriously? Wow...I realize they may not have alot of money down there but they deserve to be paid & esp for their distress. I heard they will have lost 4-% of their body weight by x-mas! I would think that would mean some might not last till then.

I'd hate to be the last person left down there waiting for my turn. How do they decide who goes first?

I hope there are no complications and everyone gets back to their families safely.

Pat, You jumped from 2300 feet???? OMG, were you parachutting or what? I am petrified of heights so when I climbed Mt Whitney in the very exposed areas with husge drop offs I had a ton of problems. I can't imagine JUMPING. Please, more information!
