Real, yes I said real, Scorpions encased in "mouth watering" candy. You get 4 for $12 bucks. I guess they're for people who hate children? More grossness HERE.
I remember these! I first heard about them around 1995. They had worms in them then.
People will eat the craziest things. I know a guy who ordered a drink in Thailand and it came with a shriveled-up dead snake's head in the cup for "garnish". Ewww!
I saw these at a Butterfly Conservatory gift shop a few years ago. I guess it was the novelty insect thing. I was grossed out by the eating insect idea. Then I thought about it later and really, shrimp and lobster - which I love - kinda look like huge insects.
I have on of those in a drawer some where. Also when I was in China a few years ago I was walking through a market and they had big bowls of scorpians for sale. All alive and moving around. You could even get "scorpian on a stick". My tour guide said lots of people love to eat them but it was not something she would ever eat. I agree with her! Sean
