I was watching some ridic foodie show on Hulu and I was going to post on how stupid foodies have become and how dumb designer water stores are..seriously, they have an aqua store now that uses a computer program to pick out a custom water tailored to your needs...I'm still laughing about that. But, then at the bottom of the screen I see Kitchen Confidential. Are you kidding me? Hulu's people have no idea what that is. They hid it in the food section. I loved that show. It was cancelled long ago, Fox never advertised it right. Bradley Cooper starred in it and it was a great show. You can watch many of the episodes HERE.Kitchen Confidential is not a cooking show. It's a comedy about a recovering party boy who takes a job as the head chef of the uber trendy Nolita restaurant and the shenanigans that go on there. Kind of like "Waiting" for television. I don't think a lot of people have heard of this show. It was really good.

Kitchen Confidential is the also the title of a book by Anthony Bourdain. It's a funny expose' of what ACTUALLY happens in restaurant kitchens. And Anthony was a heroin addict and huge partier before he wrote the book. I wonder if he was involved with the show?
My favorite cooking show was, "Doorknob Knockers" where a cook would show up unannounced and whip up a delicious dinner with what you had in your fridge and pantry. It never looked staged and it was funny!!

Bourdain's book is great. Read it in 2days. His books are written exactly how he speaks. He is witty, crass, very intelligent and insightful. After Confidential I read all the others, it was that good. Anyone who has worked in the restaurant Or food service business can truly appreciate the novels. The most recent one, Bloody Valentine, isn't so great. I'd skip that one. Seems as though his popularity has gone to his head. Something, after reading him, wouldn't have happened, but it did.

melissa, I am with you on that! He's like Whoa! Very cool and tall & slim. Food Network made a big goof once and mentioned in a commerical that he's "herion chic". I have never forgotten that. He is tho, like Keith Richards is. I get it. Bradley Cooper is good looking. When he walks into that room in "Hangover" with his black suit on and black shirt. Whoa! He's so hot in that scene.
