waiting for the furnace guy to get here at 5pm and i will have heat tonight!!! it's been a cold weekend with no heat!!!

thought i had the flu, but it was carbon monoxide poisoning.....thank goodness for a drafty old house and i thank whatever spirit put 'carbon monoxide poisoning' into my head because i wouldn't have thought of it!!!

Dirty Disher said...

Damn, Tia, I am so sorry. I know how that (no heat) feels and it sucks!! So glad you figured out the CM thing. I knew a whole family who had just winterized their old house and died from it.

miss tia said...

yeah, i'm really adamant about having no insulation above the 1st floor as a house has to BREATHE, which means when i get the money to have the house insulated, i'll be doing it myself (well paying a friend to do it! :) because no company will just do the 1st floor, as they say you have to insulate the WHOLE HOUSE top to bottom and i won't do it....if i had had a house insulated like that, i wouldn't be here right now....

and someone told me 'carbon monoxide poisoning' and whoever that was, i have thanked them numerous times this weekend!!! i hope they heard me!!

Snickering over the Tom-Katie vs. Anne Hathaway feud. Thinking about getting off the internet before some crazy fucking Jared Laughner type comes after me with a gun. Simmering with rage over the two Filipino jag-offs making noise in the hallway while they "clean." Still marveling over the fact that I didn't entirely hate The Expendables.

WHAT!!!?? Carbon monoxide poisoning! Holy crap, Tia!! I am so glad you're ok! That's some scary stuff!!

I am having a typical Monday. Everything is taking longer than it should but I did stop for a sandwich at Panera. I'm confused about the menu. I wanted a hot sandwich all of those involved fowl. I study on, had plenty of time there was a line. I find Italian Club in small print it says with ham. Can't have ham only right? I ask the clerk, what else is on the Italian Club? Out comes her cheat sheet, roast beef, salami and ham. Ok, may I please have it toasted? Sure she says, Would you like chips, fruit or bread on the side? did you say bread? i ask. Yes you can get a baggett on the side. Chips, thank you. I say. Who gets more bread with a sandwich? and why are all the hot sandwiches on the menu made out of a bird?
I suppose if I was a regular I would have this all figured out.

Kids have early dismissal today because it is GOING to snow. Hasn't really started yet. They will probably bless me at home all day tomorrow it will snow sometime in the next 18 hours. Tyrant Mommy teacher is prepared! :) sound tough don't I.

May Tia warm up soon. I will have to check into Crabbies news when the serious to do list gets shorter.

Noelle, I get the Panera bread thing. A baggette is served with everything and I love it. But not with a snadwish! Thats idiotic. With soup & sald its great. Havent been there in a very long time. My daughter & I used to do stuff like that but I rarely see her anymore so I just stay home. Its no fun to go alone.

Woke up to some snow today, we're supposed to have a system coming in this week! SNOW!!!!! YAY!

Also, here in WA we pride ourselves of our noisy Seahawks fans....and here's proof:

http://www.king5.com/news/local/Seahawks-fans-cause-12th-Man-quake-during-Lynch-touchdown-113208789.html

Be afraid, be very afraid! ;)

I'm stoked about my team having another chance. Even if we don't make it to the Superbowl, we have bragging rights for sending the champs packing on a game that was an epic battle from beginning to end. EPIC I tell ya!

Beast mode!

Tia, glad you listened to that spirit! DD and all others snow-bound, please stay warm. (Love the pic of Nikki, what a cutie!) almost all of my new plantings have been frost-bitten despite my best efforts. Crazy weather here in the SW.

Did you hear about those morons from Westboro baptist church? they're headed to Tucson to protest at the funerals of the dead. can someone explain to me how that could be the act(s) of a 'christian' let alone any *decent* human being?

Crabbie, re: two Filipinos...in the hallway

Googled that and didn't come up with anything, am I missing a news reference?

Dan Zinski said...

Um, no. There's these two Filipino kids who vacuum the hallway and scrub the stairs in my building once a week. They're noisy door-slamming savages.

Miss Tia, Im glad you are ok. I almost lost my cousin Nick to CM poisoning. Him and his roomate were in their apartment and his girlfriend at the time (now his wife) found them. His room mate did not make it. As for my cousin, he was in a coma for what seemed like ever. The doctors said he was going to be a vegetable for the rest of his life and to basicaly give up hope. His mom (my aunt) and his brother and sister stayed at the hospital every day and talked in the room with him. One day they were telling a funny story that involved my cousin and he smiled. My Aunt said "Tell the story again!!!" and he smiled again when they told it. So they contined to talk to him and he eventually woke up. He had to learn how to walk, talk, eat, drink etc... and he had to spend several hours a day in an oxygen tank thing. It was very scary. He is a walking miracle. You wouldnt even know it if you saw him, he is married now and has 2 kids.

CaseyJ. said...

Mom i love that pic of Nikki! He is so cute. I miss you guys! Hope you didn't get snow like we did in KC. We have about 4 inches right now, but we are supposed to get 8 by tonight. UGH!~

Dirty Disher said...

We're still gettin' hit. It's a doozie. I've been writing all day.

It's 1 here. Wind chill makes it feel like -17. School was canceled because of snow and cold and I'm SO glad my days off fell today and tomorrow but the forecast Friday is a high of -4.

Just saying.

I HAVE HEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

can y'all tell i'm excited?!?!? :D

wow CaseyJ! your cousin Nick is so lucky!

muffyne is going to the vet tomorrow, he's fine now, but he was having a seizure saturday and the dr. said he should be checked out just to be safe; and i have a dr. appt. wed. (yep, critters first!!) but i dunno what my dr. could do besides maybe check my blood for carbon monoxide....that would probably explain all my respiratory problems the past few months too....

Dirty Disher said...

I'm so glad you have heat. I was feeling guilty. My feets is cold though.

Crabbie...I saw those this afternoon.
Makes you wonder how much education some of these people (who are leading their flocks) have and didn't any of the congregation notice?

Ms. Tia...what a close call!!! I'm like you with the fear of fire. I'm so glad you caught it in time.

DD...I noticed that little nose covered with snow. Niki is so cute and he looks like a rascal.

Meissa...I'm sorry our Saints lost, but I have to say that if we had to lose, I'm glad we lost to a team that needed that "lift". We know what it's like to be the underdogs for so long. It just gives you a good feeling when that good "win" comes along! Congratulations!

Noelle said...

Rox- I get it know makes total sense with soup or salad. Really odd to add to a sandwich. To bad your not close we could do lunch.

Snow day tomorrow!!! I just drove home from a very slow night at work and it's nasty. Hope I can get my light saber sharpened or maybe that's charged over night. I'm positive I'm going to need it.

YAY! Tia has heat and a co2 monitor in her head and one with batteries.

super cute dog, DD!

miss tia said...

oh hey, DD, i emailed you the other day a pix of my FLAKE OFF sign for my side door this month! i think i'll have a different sign every month this year!!! :D

miss tia said...

and it was AWESOME sleeping in a warm house and getting out of bed and not being able to see my breathe!!!!!!

and CM monitor is reading ZERO!! YEAH!!!! :)

CJ said...

Our PSA for the day...
b/c of miss tia's near death experience we should all consider buying a CO Detector. Was checking several websites and prices range from $18-50+. They make CO only, CO & smoke, CO & gas. Small price to pay to avert a tragedy.

OK, done preaching... going to work.

miss tia said...

mine was $25, it's a kidde and it has a digital reader in the center which tells you the exact CM reading....it looks like a smoke detector, but has a digital screen in the center....i would highly recommend this one as it gives you the level....i got it at walmart....

CJ, that was a really good idea!! and yes, everyone should consider getting one of these!!! you might think it's the flu and it's not!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

CJ, I had one but I think its with an air cleaner machine, which I may not have anymore. So, I do need to get one. My furnace is older so I really do need one one each level of my house. My smoke detectors are not even working right now with dead batteries. I have been super busy for the last 6 mos and have neglected things like that. 9V batteries are on my list! & looking into CO2 detectors too. Getting lots of heavy snow here in Indiana today.
Sometimes peoples ring tones on their phones make me wanna strangle them & break their phone!! I just heard an annoying one here at work. It annoys me.
& My husband has a choo-choo train whistle for incoming-texts and I am about to take a hammer to his damn phone!

Big Snow is a-coming. I am sick of saying that. These big storms keep rolling up the coastline. I hate this winter and wish it ill will.
20 inches or more those weathermen are saying. They have been wrong before.
I am just going to hang out tomorrow. Make chicken soup and work on an art project. Hubs has the day off!

Just spent the last 20 minutes chasing Mom and Dad's dog around. So nice to come back to work smelling like a dog! lol. She kicked, rolled pawed and every other dog fighting tactic ...is that how you spell that?...that she could think of. In the end she got a ride home in the back seat of the car, she wasn't happy, but Dad realllly wasn't happy. Me....I'm just tired...and I stink.

My comrades and I are starting a new project in the works. We are going around town looking for new soldiers. We are going to start the good fight of freedom, Art, Cooking, History, intelegence, romance and healthier life style.

We will be the best of the best.

On Mondays: Book Club
Tuesdays: Joys of Art
Wenesday: Cooking/Baking
Thursday: Body combat
Friday: Deep thoughts from the heart.
Saturday: Movies
Sunday: Rest

This will help many soldiers to recouperate either back into society, divorce, family problems, and depression.

Do "comrades" actually bake & cook together and have a book club? "Comrades" is a rather old term, eh? Like a German Gistapo might use. I would think an American would call his friends his "buddys", and I have never heard of a straight man bonding over cooking and reading with his "comrades". Weird-O.

I've been pseud. I'm not starting a local soldiers group. I've been increasingly to busy. Even though the pit does get very lonely at times. Simply I have found a new passion in my life. It will be included in my memoirs. I leave you great ladies one of my favorite quotes.

His life was gentle, and the elements so mixed in him that the nature might stand up and say to all the world, "This was a man."

What brand is your CM detector Tia?

Frimmy said...

I believe you meant "in". That was almost, semi, somewhat, borderline, funny. If you got it right. Poor thing. Lacking in every way. You can't even troll well.

Dirty Disher said...

Trolls are so dumb.
