Titanic...news?

Two decades of research has caused scientists to warn us..the Titanic will be gone in twenty years..eaten by bacteria. So? There are memorials to the people, there are better sea safety regulations as a direct result of it, there are at least two good movies about it. The other one is called A Night To Remember and it's on You Tube. Here is is, if you haven't seen it. We have Titanic undersea films and mementos recovered from the ship. Is anyone shocked that the planet will eat this thing some day? WTF did people think would happen? We needed two years of research for that? I have news for you science channel genius's, this planet is not forever and neither is anything on it. Sorry to sound grouchy, but, jebus. Sometimes the whole planet seems retarded. Good thing the Sun is going to eat it. ~dumb look~ Whut? At least the people from Jersey Shore will have enough money to relocate. Go, Snookie.

Ive always wanted to scuba dive down near old relics, ships, statues etc. What a eerie adventure it would be.

I, for one, am glad to hear that it will be gone soon. First of all, it's not like it's a tourist resort. I wasn't planning on visiting it next summer or anything. Secondly, it's GOOD that Mother Nature is able to swallow something that large and grow over it. That's what we WANT to happen.

i wouldn't watch a movie about the titanic, unless it was the lost silent filmed about a week afterwards with one of the survivors....why couldn't they make a movie about the titanic with the ACTUAL REAL STORIES about the passengers?? the passengers on board had enthralling stories....there was no need to fictionalize any....there was the founder of macy's and his wife, she could go on a lifeboat and he couldn't (women only), she refused to go and they went and sat on a bench together holding hands until they died....a wealthy couple (can't recall their names), he was in the smoking lounge and the wife went to get him, she told the nanny to prepare the kids to get onto life boats, the nanny waited and waited and the parents didn't return so she went up to the life boats and was boarded...the parents returned to the state room and then went on a frantic search for the children....i will get them confused, but i believe the architect of the ship, stayed in the smoking lounge staring at a blueprint of the titanic in a state of shock; the builder of the titanic dressed hastily as a woman to get on a lifeboat, he survived and was villified.....the stokers in the coal room were told they could abandon their positions and they did not....they kept shoveling coal....the people in the lower classes were basically locked in their lower levels...

sorry....ranting....my point, why did cameron have to make shit up!?!??!?!?

i have watched countless documentaries though...there was one with james cameron (i know, what an ass) BUT he had some special cameras made that actually went INTO the titanic and filmed stuff that had never been able to be filmed before....so i guess he used some of his millions he made off of fictionalizing something that didn't need to be fictionalized and did something good....

they showed that the dining room windows were still intact and most poignantly to me, the cameras showed a shelf in a bedroom with a carafe, still upright, next to a bed....amazing footage in that documentary....

i don't think they should have removed anything from the wreck....ballard, who discovered the wreckage, should have claimed salvage rights but he is a scientist and wouldn't think that....it is a mass grave and should have been respected and not desecrated, it'd be like taking souvenirs from the ships sunk at pearl harbor.....

let the ship decompose and let those poor souls be at rest....

Has anybody seen the version of "Titanic" that was made in Nazi Germany? It's absolute propaganda, showing all the German passengers/crew as good and kind people who rescued other passengers, and shows the British passengers/crew as selfish and only out for themselves. The first director was arrested because he made some nasty comments about the Nazis...they found him hanged later, and ruled it as suicide. (Yeah right.)

I am sure the scientists looked into it to learn something about deep sea biological activity. One of them mentioned something to the media - and it was completely blown out of proportion. Like almost always.

that Nazi-Titanic was so good that Cameron copied as much of it as he could. A lot of angles, scenes are verbatim copies.
