I didn't watch, but, I was flipping and saw Cate Blanchett walk by and thought it was a cool dress. It photographs flat, but, it was dimensional...like an architect's dream. I thought she looked pretty. I can wait for Joan Rivers to haul her creaking bones out of her plastic QVC coffin and yell "Hoookah!". Then she'll drool into her crevices and cackle pee in her depends, fart and go back to hell.

I couldn't figure out why the neckline has the two patches of yellow. But I love the dress.
jane--the back of the dress has more yellow....
Purples and yellows are opposite on the color wheel and often used together. I'm not a fan of that color, but, I hate most of the colors of star gowns.
Doesn't it seem like there are hungry hyena's waiting for them to step out?
LMAO!
Poor Joan doesn't appear to own a mirror.
I thought this dress was so weird! I don't get it at all.
Is she ever going to make a good movie again?
Interesting dress reminded me of something kind of sci-fi. Hope she makes a good movie again.
Wish I could see the back. I'm still looking for a pic of the back. If anyone finds one, let me know.
The back
Oy, now that I've seen the back up close and huge it reminds me of really bad acne. Or bacne as my son calls it. I like the pink beading though.
I love purple and chartreuse together. Actually any purple with any green works for me.
Too much going on...enough for three dresses. But it's feminine and nice even so.
Why does the back view remind me of a baby barfing on/over my shoulder?
Once again, I turn to DListed's Michael K.:
"On Twitter I said that Cate Blanchett's dress looks like My Little Pony's genital warts. But now that I look at it a second time, it looks more like My Little Pony's coagulated cum shot. And in a sea of BORING, Cate's dress was my hands down favorite".
Exactly. Fashion has turned nasty and predictable. When I look to Helena Bonham Carter for reality, well..
the dress reminds me of the virgin suicides. It has the 1970s deco feeling with big bubble chairs and shag carpet.
