Psychologically damaged home?

"stunning, updated, classic" University Hill home with "elegance of past generations combined with modern updates."

No thank you. The "nicely finished basement with high end finishes, wet bar & wine cellar" is where Jon Benet Ramsey's body was found. The ad doesn't mention that. Or that her killer has never been found. How would you feel if you bought that and then found out the story?

"elegance of past generations". I'll say....
I don't know about the elegance but there is sure some past generations there....

I'll bet you anything the killer still knows the way in. And still thinks about it.

a lot of states require that a seller disclose if a violent crime happened in a home.....i am assuming that this isn't such a state???

in ohio they only have to tell you if you asked.....of course when i was looking at houses I ASKED!!! but most people don't.....

that house should just be tore down.....who would ever live there?? who could ever go down to that basement and not be affected?

That was the first thing I asked our real estate agent when we looked at our house in the 'hood..."has anyone died here?" ...and I think you need to ask if the house is haunted.

I'm not joking, either. Why wouldn't someone think to ask these things before they buy a house?

I think I'd know. I got fooled once though.

and just because someone passed in a home doesn't mean it's haunted....it depends on the circumstances....if someone passed peacefully i wouldn't have a problem being in a home....but if someone met a violent death, i would not want to be around that energy....

i remember reading about a house in NY where a woman was murdered by her ex-husband or boyfriend violently in front of her children....a family moved into the home a year or 2 later from out of state and did not know what had happened there....they had kids and one of the kids told their mom that a lady came into the bedroom every night to tuck them into bed and they described the woman so vividly...the mother looked up the history of the house and read what happened and it just chilled her but then she realized that this lady was watching out for her children....

she said that sometimes though there was a dark cold energy in the house too---the ex had killed himself after he killed her.....she said if she had known about this she wouldn't have bought the house.....

and sometimes even if someone didn't pass in a home they still come back to their home....mrs. moss still is here sometimes and she lived here 50+ years so that makes sense....this is her home....

I have a question. Someone once told me that if the spirits are still here then that means they haven't passed onto 'heaven' or wherever spirits are supposed to go when they're at peace. Is this true? I lost my father 6 years ago and I know he visits me in dreams and I'd love to feel his spirit around me but if that means he hasn't gone to 'heaven' then I'd rather not hear from him because I want him to be in peace and in the happy place we'd all like to go when we die.

I wasn't even thinking about a haunting though. I would thing, every single day, an innocent child was murdered in my house. Not a place I could be.

Erin, no one can answer your question. Not really. I believe I see and hear the dead and that's all I know.

Thanks DD! I appreciate the answer.

Colorado real estate law mandates that little detail be disclosed otherwise the seller can be sued.

I'd move in there as long as the price was right. I don't see ghosts and they've fixed the window the killer came in through. I probably wouldn't want any little girls spending the night though.
