Spring is here, it won't be long 'till planting time now! The yard is an unholy mess, but, some things are pretty. The Magnolia tree is magnificent, the Forsythia is purdy and I have all sorts of Daffodils and Tulips. And fat cat BonBon was following me around. She's at least 20 years old. She moves slow, but, she's happy in the Spring sunshine.

i have a few daffodils blooming and my forsythia bush too.....lilac bushes are getting buds....and my TOADS have been out looking for love the past few days!!

Bon is really sweet. She loves to lay on my stoop just out of Niki's reach. It drives him insane.

Wow.. Nothing is blooming here, yet. Absolutely nothing. Only the smallest of buds are on the trees. I really wish our winters weren't so bloddy long.

Those pics are absolutely gorgeous! And I'm glad you put a pic of BonBon. This leads to a question I have been meaning to ask. How do you acclimate
(sp.) three grown cats to a new house? I have been worried about them getting lost or hurt when I move--which is coming up soon. They are indoor/outdoor cats. They are free to go in and out during the day, but at night, I bring them in. Does anyone have any hints about how to make this easier on them? I'm worried! Please help!!
Jane, I live in the woods, and personally, I keep my cat indoors because I get paranoid about him getting run over by a car or attacked by a coon or an owl, so I can't give you advice on how to acclimate them...only to hope that they don't get freaked out and run away. But if I had the budget I would totally do what this guy did to keep his indoor/outdoor cats safe:

Wow, Meissa, that was great. I wish I could do that. I might be able to give them places to hide and even some places to climb, but that copper work is something beyond my budget. And even if I could afford it, people around here are steeling copper. (they actually steel whole A/C units just to get the copper). I will need a fence and I tried to think of some way to box in an area temporarily until they get used to the area. The problem there is their cat door is going to be in the back door of the house. So that wouldn't work out. I'll have to think of something! But the video did give me some good cat ideas. Thanks!
hey Jane, I think as long as the tubing remains slippery it could be any metal, I dunno. also I have been thinking a lot about that cedar oil treatment. I think it would be great to get the kitties off the frontline and stuff.
I wish I could let my cats out, even just on the patio, but we have a maniac German Shepard across the yard that has a tendency to chase anything smaller than him and try to get a little taste.
