Cool and cheap

Cool, cute and cheap ideas. You can also make one like that top one, out of muslim, but, make it smaller and table top size. You dip the muslim in liquid starch, arrange it over a balloon taped to a paper towel roll. When it dries, you remove the towel roll and pop the balloon. I've made those before and they really looked good. I like the idea in that last pic too. Using those fake cobwebs to hook the ghosts together, like they're holding hands. How cute.

Those green alien ghosts are sooooooo adorable. I might have to make those.

I'm waiting for the punkin truck. At the store, pumkpins start at $4 bucks! OMG. There's this old farmer couple who park a flat bed at the gas station every year and it's LOADED with squash, pumpkins in all sizes, and gourds. And they start at 50 cents. Nothing is more than 3 bucks. If they have white ones, I'm saving seeds for next year. That punkin truck makes me so happy.

Hey, Angie, you could always paint one white. I saw Martha do that.

That's not a bad idea. There is a guy that used to sell them out where I used to live, maybe I'll check him out. He had those really weird looking ones that looked like they had warts. Also had the flatter ones that were a darker color.

When the kids were younger, we used to do a similar thing with balloons or nerf balls for the heads and shear curtains for the ghost body. We'd hang 5 or 6 of them off the flowering crab apple tree by the front walk. Fake spider webs all around the front door and everyone had to fight their way into the house.

I have a cheapo balloon one that will blow you away. I'll have to make it and put it on. I've never seen it anyplace else, I just came up with it one year...and it's good.

DD, didn't you say that one year, after Halloween, you cut the ghost loose and watched it float down the street? How cool...
(did you get my punkin picture?)

I'll have to look. And yeah, it was the ghost that walked by itself. It was cheap and simple and baffled the neighborhood. So spooky.

I LOVE the milk container ones. How do you do the lights inside? Are they clear Xmas lights?

I spied white ones and grey ones at the farm stand today. The big grey gourds look cool but they stink when you cut open.
I will do a couple regular and a white one. Then I get lil sugar pumpkins for the porch stairs.

I like the milk jug lights, too!! Thanks for posting the pics, as Halloween is the only holiday that I decorate for. I never saw white pumpkins before--they're really neat looking.

I don't know how to make an 'identity', so I will be an anon. I guess
