Bachelor Mother (1939)

This is one of the cutest old movies I've ever seen. A salesgirl is mistaken for the mother of an abandoned baby. (That's not my baby!...Take the baby, stop saying it's not your baby, shame on you!) Her handsome rich boss becomes interested in the situation and you can guess what happens. But, it's so much fun getting there. Ginger is a smart ass and so cute you can't stand it and David Niven is as handsome as they come. He's dreamy. I guess they didn't have DNA tests in those days. Fuck that horse shit anyhow, take this kid home and shut it, lady. Part 1 is HERE and this channel has several oldies, but, goodies. Good quality too.

I love David Niven! I'm watching Trail of the Pink Panther right now, and he is older, but just exudes such effortless charm and class. (just watched the car chase through town, as a matter of fact.). Thank goodness for old movies. I have been pretty much stuck at home for a couple of weeks now. First I pulled something in my left back, and then my son shared the awful upper respiratory infection/ pneumonia he got, with me. I have a sinus infection and pneumonia and am on my second set of antibiotics, inhalers, steroids, etc. I feel as if someone is poking a screwdriver straight up behind my left eye. Don't get me started on the cost of medicine, either. I have what is considered good insurance, and for ten days worth of antibiotics, taken once a day, the insurance is paying over $130, and my share is over $85. I think that's outrageous, and don't know how people with a lesser insurance can do it.
It sucks to be me right now, though. I ca't wait to be up and doing stuff again. I need to finish cleaning out the old coop so I can paint it with the mulberry/ purple oops paint I found at the feedstore. The weather is beautiful. I wish I could be out there.

I type like a moron when I don't feel good. That was after proofreading.

Agree with Christina - love David Niven too!

Hope you feel better soon, Christina. You're around the Portland area, no? It's pelting rain here right now...

Thanks, Melissa. Yes, the rain is definitely back.
My son and husband came home from a day of recreational shooting, and I made them go out shopping because I am just too crabby and bitchy to be around, and I feel too crummy to go anywhere. And now it's raining and the dogs are wet. Crap.

Debbie Reynolds is no Ginger.
