By the time Lis got home at bedtime the lights were back on. The computer was still blank eyed and drunk looking. When I got up today, I looked on all my favorite blogs and they were the same as yesterday. Like, nothing new had happened. It felt like groundhog's day. I felt like Bill Murray, without pockmarks. Or a martini.
It leaves me with a strange disconnected feeling. Like, will I wake up tomorrow and find out Kim Kardashian's wedding was nothing but a dream? It can't be..I saw the four wedding gowns last night. Or did I?? Que strange music.

No dreamin' there, unfortunately! Kim K did indeed get married.
Sorry you caught Lissa's chest cold. Hope it gets through your system fast.
I will be thinking of you a lot today, DD as will be ingesting mucho Jello... Having a colonoscopy tomorrow and can only drink clear fluids - lots of chicken broth and Jello :)
I feel that way about my yard. It is now leaf season. Mowed the grass on Monday. The yard is now covered in leaves. I have to mow it NOW because it is going to rain again. I'll be reliving this over and over and over again until all the leaves are down. Groundhog Day in my yard :(
Melissa..oh man, I'll be thinkin' of you. I hear they dope you up good for that. I hope so.
CJ, I love the fallen leaves, I was talking to Lis about them on the way to school. She asked me why you could still see the Moon and I got to tell her about the Moon taking over for the Sun and letting him nap while she works and how the leaves do a goodbyye dance. She's going to her mom's for three days and I miss her already.
I dig all the leaves on my patio; what semblance we get of Autumn out here in LA .... oh, and the crows. And man, the moon last night; she was the size of a dinner plate and bright, bright yellow. Bring it on, Fall, bring it on.
HAHA! my dogs wouldn't go out in the rain either!!!
sorry you got Lissa's chest cold, hope your feeling better soon!!
i love walking through parks in the fall crunching through the fallen leaves, but i hope it stops raining for a few days so they become crunchable instead of squishy......
Do your pups hold it or what? I can't get Niki to figure out it's okay to go by the door if it's raining. He gets miserable. Poor little wanker.
yeah, they'll hold it....i let 'em out first thing in the morning---now if it's raining then they WILL fly out anyway.....but then when i normally let 'em out again about 4-5 hours later if it's raining they won't go out.....i tried a few hours later.....no....i opened the door, they saw the rain and poli & pan looked up at me like "bitch it's raining we ain't going out there" (never mind these are the dogs who'll roll in the mud and jump in the ponds....).....finally around 7:30pm it was a light drizzle and i ran downstairs and they went out---poli sure seemed relieved!!!
silly dogs!!
Oh, okay. I've tried everything to get him to go ahead, even one of those pee pads. I guess he's young, he can hold it. I sure can't..lol.
..and I know that look. It's like, "wtf? I am paralyzed and the sky is falling."
He also looks that way when Lissa drops chocolate. Like he might be in another world where nothing makes sense but he's having an orgasm.
I always have to trick my dogs by putting their leashes on and saying we're going for a walk. For some reason, they'll go in the front yard if they think they're getting a walk but refuse to go in the backyard if it's raining.
Hope you're starting to feel better with the cold. Damn kids get one and it lasts for 3 days. They share with us and we have it for at least a week.
Fall is my favorite season, my kind of temps. Love the falling leaves... until they fall in my yard. I have too many maple and sassafras trees (and a very large viburnum ... how are Vi & Buddy doing?) I'll be doing leaf mulching every couple days for the next 2-3 weeks.
Erin, the backyard is a haunted unmarked graveyard! Dogs know. Heh heh.
CJ, Viand Buddy have made it! They are green and purdy. Vi has really surprised me. Big! Thanks so much.
Not to be an asshole but that Bill Murray picture is from Lost in Translation.
I knew Buddy would be OK, wasn't sure if Vi would make it through your hot summers. If Vi winters well & you want a little sister in the spring, just let me know. I have at least 8 volunteers under one of my big maple trees. My large one (the parent) is at least 20' tall. If you don't want Vi getting that big, next fall you could start trimming her back/ shaping it.
Hope you feel better soon DD xx Come to Aus the sunshine will do ya good :D
Crabbie, you are always an asshole, but, you are correct.
Vanessa, Oz is too hot. Let's meet in London. In the rain.
London could work too!
