No thank you China

Polar brand canned foods sell well here. They are sold at the dollar store and I see them in the grocery too. On the label it says "Distributed in the USA!" In very tiny print, on the back, it says, "A product of China." It's hard to see, I have to put on my reading glasses and hold the jar sideways and squint..but, it's there. No thank you. I do not eat food from China and neither should any citizen of America.

China has the worst food standards of any country in the world, bar none. In fact, they don't even really have any food standards. They make cooking lard out of human sewage, and that is not a rumor. It is a fact. They treat vegetable fields using raw sewage as fertilizer. They treat animals horribly and feed them shit, literally. A cage of diseased chickens might be suspended over a fish farm 'pond' and the infected chicken droppings become fish food. Then they can the dying fish and send it over here. And that's just the tip of the iceberg and not even one of the gross examples.

We can not trust our government. Our country should not allow any food imports from China, but, because they're greedy bastards who kiss China's ass, they do. China is disgusting and the less we have to do with it, the better.

I eat very little prepared food, but, now I know that all the ingredient's origin doesn't have to be listed. You can be eating literal diseased shit from China and no one is required, by any law, to tell you that. This has ruled out the couple of items I do eat. I can make my own Shake n Bake until they tell me exactly what's in it and where it comes from. Ditto Tuna Helper. Too bad, that's good cheap stuff, but, where is the list of ingredient origin? Not on the package.

It's sad that Americans have to stand in the aisles and read lables carefully to decide if they might be poisened by people who hate us just because our government doesn't give a damn. But, you have to. Unless you want to eat "A product of China." I do not. I would gladly serve it to the Food And Drug Administration though, and all the big guys in government. With a great big Chinese cherry on top.

No one wants food from China. Go ahead, find me ONE person who wants food from China. You can't do it. I can't stop the imports, but, I can damn sure demand that it's labled. If it's not, you can keep it, Mr. Big Shot food 'distributor.' A catchy jingle doesn't make sewage look any better.

Great diet article. Lost my appetite. Which is nearly impossible.

Agreed. I read all the labels, too. If it's food, and made in China, it doesn't come home with me. It's disgusting that our own government doesn't care enough to protect us from outright garbage. All that seems to matter is profit, and big corporations.
You can't trust a lot of other stuff, either. A couple of years ago I read about kitchen cabinetry, when we thought (it was a very temporary thought, trust me) that we might redo our kitchen. It turns out that a lot of cabinetry now comes from China, and that it outgasses poisonous chemicals. The pallets that things are crated with may contain dangerous insects, etc., also. We need to cut off trade with China.

Yes, and pet food, tires, toothpaste, toys..omg the poison list is endless. I draw the line at food. I has to be stopped.

Food Bar Codes will show where a product is from. It is scary to see how many products out there are from another country.

If the first 3 digits of the barcode are:

690-692 ... then it is MADE IN CHINA
00 - 09 ... USA & CANADA
30 - 37 FRANCE
40 - 44 GERMANY
471 .... Taiwan
49 ... JAPAN
50 ... UK
A friend passed this information onto me and thought I would share it for your topic.

Since I'm only buying food for one, I purchase Very little prepackaged food. When the vegan kid comes home, I'm reading labels for the word Egg or animal protein. Mostly I buy fresh vegtables for her.

Sounds like this is time for Fuck China. Where's Tia?

Thank you for the code. I'll memorize it. But, nothing is listed in prepared food. It's treated as one product.

I miss Tia too.

FYI, read on Snopes.com that those codes aren't always correct. They have a more complete description on their site.

Great. Another all caps, excessive punctuation post. And just when things had gotten so sane.

When we were crib shopping, I got a book that rates all the crib makers. Almost all of the cribs out there are made in China. We ended up paying a couple of hundred dollars extra for a brand that isn't made in China. It killed me to have to spend the extra money but I didn't want to take any chances. I'm sure the baby will be chewing on that crib when he starts teething.

Tell us how you really feel, Ang! ;)

Erin, you did the right thing. I spent the morning cleaning and throwing out things from China. I am done with China.

I never buy food from China and I am even more conscious of it when I buy stuff for the baby. I mean they put Melamine in baby formula to save money, who the F*ck does that!!!

Link to Snopes.com where country of origin codes are listed:

http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/barcodes.asp

Of course, as they point out, the bar codes indicates where the product was packaged and shipped to the US and not necessarily where the original product came from...

Vanessa, I know! Right? They don't even care if they kill their own babies and we're supposed to trust them with ours???? Unthinkable.

I live in the NA city with the highest Chinese and other Mongoloid population, with more pouring in daily. They don't realize their selfishness and greed is patently obvious to non-mongoloids and causes us to dislike them.

The Chinese are euphemistically called 'Asian' by most people, which is absurd because it groups them with all the Caucasian peoples of Asian - Indians and Russians for example. I NEVER hear anyone call a Russian or Indian 'Asian', they're called by their true nationality.

I've never met anyone who didn't generally dislike them including men married to Chinese women.

I know it's poor PC to use the word Chinese but not so bad to say 'China' instead. But that's pretending China's not made up of Chinese. And if China's so great, as they want us to believe, why are they leaving by the millions to populate the rest of the world?

Anyway, when your home town is choking with them, it's hard not to see their flaws. Be glad you can avoid their products, which is impossible here.

Is that your blog? How did you find this place??

I live in Russia, and we have a huge percentage of products here from China as well. Everyone will tell you, plainly, that they don't like China, don't like buying the products made from China, but sometimes have to make that choice for price reasons. It's really quite scary, as food labeling is slim to none here, and you have to ask about everything you buy. Which I do! I even went to buy an umbrella, and ended up with a 20-dollar one made in Russia, rather than the 5-dollar one made in China (that I would have had to replace after one storm anyway). It's worth not supporting them as much as possible. My husband travels there often for business and dreads every trip; and he has spent time in some crazy places. China, for him, is the worst!
