sourceTeens who destroyed a dozen trees in Fairview Woods Park were caught by police. When they were apprehended they shrugged and said it was no big deal and that "It's better than drinking and there's nothing better to do."
They felt that is was fine to destroy trees because the had nothing better to do. Police also say the teenagers are costing the city a lot of money – as much as $10,000 per tree.
And when it comes to criminal charges, chopping down city trees is not better than drinking. Chief Johnson says drinking would be a violation but the teenagers now could face felonies – three charges each of felony criminal mischief.

I hope they do have felonies filed against them. I hope they do some time AND repay the tree money AND have to plant more. Bunch of little idiots. I'd be so ashamed of my kid if they pulled something like this. Do you think their parents understand how sickening this is, or did they tell them it was better than drinking? Little morons.
