Bought these

Picked up two boxes of these on my way home from work the other day. I've decided to fill the front bed with day lillies because I'm sick of taking care of it. Got the damn things home and found out they aren't a perennial in Iowa. Ferfuckssake. The zone map on the box couldn't be read without a magnifying glass. You have to dig these up in the Fall. That's not happening. What did I expect, buying Mexican bulbs from Holland, shipped to Canada and distributed in Pennsylvania? I wonder how they even got to Iowa? Ehh, if this is my only gardening fuck up this year, I'll be thrilled. What are you planting?

not planting anything new this year.....think i might move some things though and i'm gonna do a better job of training my wisteria, honeysuckle and hummingbird vines.....the honeysuckle has branches over 30' and i have them going over the arch over my front walk and i'm gonna train them to cover the lattice all around my porch....the wisteria (which is next to the front porch but is planted in the side yard) is spreading along the side of the house (side yard side), up front (mingling with the honeysuckle which is divine smelling!), and up the front porch roof.....

hummingbird vines are all the yard....need to train them i think through the lilac bushes and then get them across the fence by the street....

Miss Tia,

Your entryway and front porch sound like the perfect place to swap stories and drink Mojitos and Mint Juleps!

Are Mexican daylillies different than normal ones? Cuz I have a stella d'oro day lily and I don't dig it up in the fall and my growing zone is 4b.

All I want is somebody to spray the danged weeds with the stickers to death. I haven't had time except for 2 very windy days and now I may never get to it.

Man, I wish I understood this gardening junk. I just found out yesterday that I have to dig up bulbs in the fall...what's the point. I thought the stupid things came back every year. Serves me right for reading American gardening blogs!
