Cunty yard

The Tulip tree has budded, that's a good thing, right? But, the rest of the yard looks like puke. Big tree damage in the back to clean up and yuck everywhere. It's all piles of shitty shit with shit blown in and it's heavy and wet and nasty and gross. I hardly know where to start. I guess start at the front door and keep going until I say fuck it. After that it becomes, umm, wild life habitat. I'm preserving the prarie?

so much stuff is budding around here already.....honeysuckle has new leaves, wisteria, butterfly bushes, lilac bushes, crocuses are blooming, daffodils coming up, even the rose bushes have new leaves.....but yeah, aside from that, my yard is all brown looking too....i should try to conquer the off shoots growing around the yard from the locust trees before they get leaves.....but uh, it's muddy and i'd hate to disturb the still hibernating toads----who should be coming out very very soon!!

Oh, I look foreward to the toad pics! Hopefully everything will be pretty soon, but, damn, so much work. I can hardly face it all.

they should be coming out very soon! i keep looking in the little pond behind the house as that has a lot of sediment in it and i know quite a few probably hibernated in there and haven't seen any yet.....it's been in the 60s/70s, so they should be coming out to soon to start sunning themselves and looking for 'spring love'!! i'll do another 'toad hunt' tomorrow if it's sunny out, i might catch one out sunning themselves.....

My yard looks like shit too. It will be at least a month before I have the time to start any cleanup. I'm not home right now, so I don't have to look at it. Hope the neighbors are enjoying the scenery.

Did Buddy Holly & Vi survive the winter ... oh, and the grape vines?

I have been looking for your NetherWorld 7 pics and I finally found them. For those that saw them the first time around, they were the pics with the Moore House (the Ax Murder House) the DD took when she spent the night there. But my favorite one were the ones of Abandoned Iowa. I would have had to go in there---even if I fell through the floor. Many of the pics had "pB" by them. Do you remember what that was for? Also, who is Miss Fluffy? I really enjoyed seeing them again. Maybe when things get a little calmer in your life, you could put some more of your stuff on.

Jane, pB stood for an old chat name, psychoBitch. Do you have that link? I lost it.

CJ, the holly I bought looks dead, but, the one you sent is green and nice. The Virb and grapes are great too. Starting to swell.

if the grape vines don't make it, they have the 1 year guarantee! but i am glad to hear they are budding!! :)

They look good. I think I might have to move them though.

Miss Tia said...

too much around them? or are you moving your arch way?

Good to know the holly, vibr & grapes made it through the winter. If you want a female holly, I can check mine & see if there is another volunteer out there. We already know it will survive my redneck shipping!

LOL..let's see how Buddy does this Summer. I still think I'm the only one in town who has one. They just aren't common here.

Tia, I just think I put them in the wrong spot. The ground around the arbor is unstable and it's laying down. Plus, I didn't think about how much wasps like grape vines. I think I have to move it all. Maybe to the front flower bed? I learn from my fuck ups..lol.

Let me know if you want a female holly. The males don't get the red berries but are needed to pollinate the females. ...where have I heard this story before?

Miss Tia said...

well i don't know what kind of sun your front flower bed gets....but the grape vines will need stable support so make sure the arbor is anchored in good (you know which way the wind usually blows, i know for me it usually always comes from the north west) or that they have a place to 'vine' as they will help create a 'fence' for you too!! multi-purpose grape vines!!! :)

you can't be around wasps? i didn't know wasps liked grape vines....especially if there was no grapes!! maybe they liked the morning glories???

I have a severe reation to wasps and spider stings. I keep the hypo in my fridge. The wasps send me right to the emergency room. The damn tornado ripped the trellis supports out and bent them in two. They were iron. I may have to put in support poles, lumber, and use a post hole digger. If I sink big long round lumber it shoud be secure.I could paint it black and make it look like part of the trellis. I could put it over Buddy Holly and Virbeana, they like shade. And let the grapes grow on top and on the fence too. I think that's my plan. It will look really good there and the soil is all compost.

Miss Tia said...

that does sound like an awesome plan!! if you use the post hole digger, put those posts in with cement too.....the add water kind, dump in the bags of cement, add water, have lis stir and viola!

awful lot of work though!! i know you pace yourself! don't over do it!!!

and the plants will LOVE being by the compost!!

As long as the tornados skip it this year. That was a bitch.

saw my first TOAD today!!! i was looking out the back window and i keep watching the little pond back there as it's filled with silt and i know they hibernate in there and the little pond in the side yard and burrow under leaves, etc....but i saw one come up!!! then i saw him in the sun but he dove back into the silt before i could take a pix....a bit later i saw just his head peeking out from the pond and i put on super duper zoom!

first TOAD sighting of 2012 it's suppose to be in the high 70s through most of the week (then they say SNOW!) so i think more will come out and they'll be doing their mating calls soon.....

i hope you don't have any tornadoes either!!!! with how strange this winter has been i have no idea what kind of summer to expect.....
