Is this nuts?

See that dude? His name is Rod Peterson and he's being charged with disorderly conduct and facing fines of over $700. Why? Because while he was gassing up his car he saw two 13 year old girls leaving the station in the rain with no jackets and no umbrella so when he left, he asked them how far they had to go? Which is, to me, indicating he was thinking maybe he could give them a ride, but, not really asking them to ride with him. Which is what they accused him of when they later called the police. Peterson is a married father of three with another baby on the way and some after some digging about this article, it's fairly clear that the guy has no past record of weirdness with young girls. He said he thought he was just doing the right thing considering the circumstance. The girls did the right thing in waving him on, but, the police? Really? Disorderly conduct? This case is bizarre.

It reminded me of last week when I tried to do a good deed and it backfired. I stopped and offered a ride to some weirdo in the rain and he acted like I was going to abduct his ugly ass. He took the ride, but, was so freaked out he even tried to fake me out about which house he lived in, in case I wanted to stalk him later. Next time I see him walking, not only will I not stop, it will be a test of will not to run over his dumb crippled ass. Enjoy carrying that weeks worth of groceries 20 blocks, Mr. Paranoid.

No good deed goes unpunished. Happened to me recently, too. Never again.

Sad to say, I have become less and less forthcoming with good intentions within the general populace these days. I get tired of the shock on their faces when I politely asks if they are in need or if something is wrong. Fuck um .... : /
