The Wonderbag

It's a slow cooker that doesn't need fuel. Early people did this by burying a leather bag in dirt and hippies did it by wrapping pots in quilts. Basically, you heat your food to a boil and then shove it in the bag for a few hours and it will cook. The 'new' green Wonderbag is filled with polystyrene beads and sells for £30. That seems like a lot to me. It's ugly and I can't help but imagine it with gunk spilled all over it. It's not washable. Ehh, maybe if I lived in Africa or somewhere fuel was scarce, but, not here. I wonder if an old bean bag chair would do the same thing? Bet it would. There'd finally be a use for those ugly old things. Would you use it?

I thought so too. It's not appealing..at..all. Fuck green too. When the government cleans up big industry, I'll worry about my lightbulbs and pop cans.

I like your bean bag idea better; sit a spell while your butt keeps your food warm and toasty.

I would worry about bacteria growing in "warm food". I want it cooked and piping hot when I eat anything, especially meat. Also, what the hell would you do with that thing when it's not being used. Stick a candle in the middle and set it on your dining room table?? Bad idea all the way around.

Dumb! Ugly ! And where do you store it? Expensive and it can't be washed?
Plus if your dying to cook this way just wrap it in thing around the house. Or bury it in the yard and save the money. I don't understand this at all. No I wouldn't use it I would plug in the crock pot and use some energy.

My grandmother used to make rice pudding buy boiling the rice/water and then leave it to steep in the "feather tick" on her bed. This has been around for centuries.

I wish I still had my grandma's feather tick. Those were the best.

I haven't heard the words 'feather tick' in decades, but, yeah, that's what granny called it.
