4 is a bad number today

I don't feel good. The kids gave me some kind of virus and I'm headachey and upset stomach. Kids are germ factories and their mother takes them to day care, which is the main germ factory. I'm grouchy about it. I'm waiting on the plumber to fix a leaky toilet. He was here two days ago, it's still leaking. This will be the fourth time they've fixed it. You think maybe it's not the wax ring? <---sarcasm. The other number four is my mother asking me to take her to the store for the fourth time with my brother's shoes. She buys him the most expensive shoes they have at the one place we can buy shoes here and I think it's ridic because he uses a walker. Is he gonna go jogging in these high falutin' shoes? Anyway, first we get em, them we return them because they neglected the sale price, then we return them because they are the wrong size, now he just doesn't like the looks of them. Well, I don't feel like it today, I'll take her Monday. It's getting old. I asked her why we don't just go get him to pick out his own damn shoes and she looks at me like I'm the one who's nuts. It's because she's controlling. She has to control everything right down to what kind of shoes you wear. That is exactly why I hardly let her do anything for me. Nothing is a gift when it comes with her stipulations. No thank you, boss of the world. The pumpkin is now orange and I can rip out the vine that has taken over. I have two good sized pumpkins for each kid. Good enough. How's your day going so far?

hope you are feeling better STAT!!!! yep, totally controlling re: the shoes!!!!

i'm getting ready to go sit out in the sun out front in the street again....i have a lot of shit to do, but i can't help myself, it's too enjoyable and i haven't done it in years and it's relaxing!!

i am gonna finish outlining eddie's 5' wooden grinch though to start painting it....we scrubbed it with rubbing alcohol to remove the smoke, then two coats of kilz, now i'm gonna take the laptop out with pix of it 'before' and draw on the outlines so i can start repainting it while it's still nice out....

WTF, he who doesn't walk gets the expensive shoes. Didn't she buy you a pair of mismatched shoes from the sale bin at the dollar store?

Crazy ladies will always be crazy.

Hope you're feeling better soon! Kids are germ factories, no getting around it.

Peppermint oil on the temples, a cup of good coffee and a ciggy with a good book or a good tv show marathon / movie. Shut off the phone, don't answer the door. Give the doggie a treat and fuck the world for a few hours / days. Thinking of you; thanks for the addy. Surprises abound.

I hope you feel better DD! I love Mary Mary's advice! Hope you get to do that at some point.

I'm in New Orleans with Baby Billy visiting the in laws. They spoil us but my mil drives me crazy. She's just like Raymond's mom on Everybody Loves Raymond - quick with the unwanted advice and questions almost everything I do. But Baby Billy is the only one of her 6 grandchildren that can be put down awake, takes great naps, and sleeps through the night. He's a chunker and eats very well for me and is rarely fussy so clearly I'm doing something right but still she questions everything and is driving me crazy! But she loves him and has bought him so much this week that I guess it's a trade off I have to deal with.

I had a mother in law who knew everything. Trouble was, she really did know everything. LOL. I wish I had had her teach me more. I'm glad baby Billy is doing well. Aww, he sounds like a good baby.

Tia, all I know is I am to keep her until further notice and I am not to allow her mom to take her anyplace. I suppose it's the same deal as last time. I'll pick her up from school in an hour. Good thing she has a few school clothes here.

anyone got any problems with high blood pressure? i suppose you are all too young. i kinda smoked and drank my way through the 70's, 80's and 90's like there was no tomorrow. im pretty fit and healthy now. exercise regularly, good diet, average weight. but i have high blood pressure. im on medication but still high. today i did something my doxtor (he knows i lean towards hypochondria) told me never to do. i went into a chemist and saw a sign 'test your blood pressure' so i succumbed to temptation and tested my blood pressure. well it was so high i should be in a hospital. FUCK! my weekend ruined! got friends turning up in an hour and invited out to dinner tonight. michael says the thing is probably broken and gave a wrong reading. i feel fine but wondering wether to visit a weekend doctor and pay him $70 only probably to be told to see my doctor on monday. needless to say im feeling just a bit stressed. dam! and i was having such a nice time!

Lia, do you have a headache? How high is your blood pressure, if you don't mind me asking?
I AM over weight, but my meds work great. Maybe try taking a diuretic and see if that helps. Are you under a lot of stress? If it stays high, go see about it. It's nothing to play with.
I hope it will get better.

You be careful and have it monitored until it comes down. That spider bite sent mine up and the wasp sting sent it thu the roof. I take two BP meds since that stroke and I never had a problem. I know the signs of it getting high now, so maybe those insects did me a favor in a way. You let me know when you figure out that continuous calm. I can't do it.

I found out I can feel it. I feel a strange mild pressure in my hands and feet. Like my skin is tight. It's uncomfortable.
