Dollar Store seeds are on sale for 5-10 cents each. I got a bunch. I got things I use or might use next year. First of September they will be 1 cent each and I'll go back and get all they have left. They have a good germination rate, they're good seeds.*************************************************************************
I also got a box of old canning jars. Yard sale. They are the antique kind with glass lids and wire flips. I thought they were $6 dollars apiece, which would have been fair, but, the lady said, no, $6 buck for the whole box. I couldn't pass them up, some of them are from the 1800s. Not a chipped one in the bunch. They all have lids. I also got a real big box of Kerr and Ball canning jars with screw lids for free. They aren't old though, just useful.

AWESOME deal on the jars!!! and an awesome deal on the seeds too!! none of our seeds go down to a penny a pack! i wish!! they never ever put seeds on clearance....
Dollar stores do and I like their seeds. They don't have fancy varieties, but, they're solid. I like jars for dry goods. I don't can, but, I know how. And I have canning equip if the need ever arises.
dollar general down the street doesn't mark down seeds....i've never seen seeds in a dollar tree....haven't been in a family dollar forever, so i dunno know if they sell seeds.....i'll have to look!!
jars are so useful for storing items, even to use in craft projects!
Great deal on the jars! I have several like them I make yogurt in. I prefer the older ones because I can reuse and sterilize the lids as well. I will have to check out the seeds in September!
Ahhh, good idea you have there. I can't imagine making yogurt. I'd gross myself out. I'll bet I could store seeds in some of them though.
some of those could be worth a mint, may want to do a little research and resell them. Who knows, you could make a little money and keep a few jars too!
You should can some tomatoes. To me thats the best thing ever. That and green beans. I can't do it. I have tried but can't. I had about 2 dozen jars of tomatoes explode one time. I heard a pop, then another then it was like popcorn. And a bloddy mess. Never again. I am incapable of it.

I don't like to can. Pressure canners are scary. It's a good skill to know (and I do know and have one), but, until the SHTF, I'll pass. I do freeze my tomatos. I just wash them and throw the whole tomato in the freezer. Easy and lazy. I wish I had a big freezer, but, I don't.
Bima, I have some real old ones in the cupboard. They are marked 1865. I can't imagine they're worth much. I like to look and imagine some old frontier lady canning food in them.
Nice deal on the jars! I bought some that were similar to those, but not quite as nice, a few weeks ago. I sure paid more than you did, though. Even after negotiating, and getting a pretty good reduction.
When a fellow thrifter has a major 'thrift score,' I get a little fehklemped! Happy as a clam for you! Those jars rock.
