Hurricane Issac

It's coming. I hope it's just a storm, but, it's already killed 6 people in Hati and now it's on it's way to our gulf coast. There are some of our own in that area and I am worried about them. HERE is one article. Front page news. Brendon Loy, a blogger who predicted the cataclysm of Katrina says he has deja vu this time. Jane says store shelves are empty and that could be worse than the storm the futher North we look. Some areas are going to be without power and that's a given. I am going to prepper sites and see what they've done. Some people are as ready as they can be, some are not prepped at all and it's all scary to me. It's supposed to hit hard Tuesday and Wed. Send the South some good energy or prayer. You guys hang in there, be safe and let us know as soon as you can.

I'd much prefer if Issac fizzled out in the middle of the Gulf, but I was kinda hoping it would make a direct hit on Tampa!

Why Tampa?

RNC convention is going on there....i would like it to directly hit the RNC convention full force.....let's see if they call the 'government' for help....

but i don't want anyone injured---well i think some of those in the RNC need a smack upside the head.....and to think, new orleans STILL isn't fully rebuilt....nor are many areas hit by katrina.....FEMA fucked that up majorly.....

LOL at government help. They'll be in their underground stocked bunkers in the Midwest. Where Bush went on 9/11.

I wouldn't be overly upset if Issac hit Tampa & wiped out the Tea Party reps. Unfortunately it looks like Issac is heading for southern LA again.

We just left New Orleans yesterday. My in laws are staying there. I talked to my mil this morning and they were out getting sand bags to put atound the doors to prevent water coming in. They got a couple of feet of water in their house after Katrina but that was enough to destroy their entire downstairs. They had to live upstairs for 6 months while their house was repaired. My aunt in law lost her house entirely - water was over the roof. They don't think it's going to be as bad as Katrina. The levys are fixed, which is what really caused the problems. Still - sending good thoughts their way that this won't be a big problem.

Erin, I'm so glad you got out before it got crazy. I didn't know your mil was in N.O.
We are in the direct path and I'm just waiting. It seems they always hit at night. It makes it twice as bad because you can't see what's going on. If a tree falls on my house, I would like to see it so that I would know which way to run! The one thing that is for certain is the power will go out and stay out for a while. And that is a bitch. You don't realize how much you use it until it is gone.

Wondering what's going to happen to the sink hole. That crew has gone for the hurricane.

This one is a slow mover. So when it hits land it will drop a lot of water and the winds will last a while. Just crossing my fingers.

Only good thing---the temperature right now is heavenly. So packing up all the stuff in the yard isn't so bad right now.

Good luck Jane! I'll be thinking about you and sending good thoughts your way!

I'm just scared for you, Jane. Be safe as you can. Erin, I am relieved to hear you and Billy got out. I hope it's not bad, but, I'm afraid.

Jane, stay safe, stay dry. I'm sending positive thoughts your way & a virtual bubble over your area to keep you safe.

Thanks everyone. It's just a waiting game right now. If we stay on the west side of the eye, it won't be as bad. Almost have everything out of the yard. I'm doing a little at a time and then I'm heading to my sister's. The little kitties will have to stay but I think they will be OK. Please keep your fingers crossed. I'll let y'all know what happens when the power comes back on.Bye bye for now!
