The Aurora Victim Relief Fund questioned

The Aurora Victim Relief Fund has raised $5 million dollars to help. But, they gave no more than $5 grand to each affected family. Article.."The families also said they've been shut out of decisions on how the money should be spent and that fundraisers were unresponsive to their questions and suggestions." The Community First Foundation, was asked by Gov. John Hickenlooper to operate the relief fund. They all need to answer some questions. Now. I liked how they said $100 grand was given to other non profit organazations. Really? Name them. People who gave generously to help the Aurora victims should be very pissed about now. Sounds like crookery to me.

That money was donated for the victims! Those agencies can do their own fund raising.

they'll claim they were acting on the victims 'behalf' and that's why they need a piece of the pie....

OFF TOPIC...I had to come home. This is the slowest moving hurricane I have every been in. We have been in the eye all day. I don't think this has ever happened before. The first half passed early this morning. Hard wind, plenty rain. Everything was flooded. The water has had time to go down during the eye. My street has power but many others don't. I may be sorry I came home before the second half hit, but I don't know. This is really strange. I believe we have made history here for THE SLOWEST hurricane ever! I'll let y'll know more when it happens...if it happens!

On topic...I think the whole burial industry has gone crazy. It shouldn't cost that much to bury someone. They take advantage of people during their times of sorrow. And I think the money should go to the vitims or their families. People do make money off of nonprofit organizations. Just ask the person running that organization how much he/she makes a year! I know someone has to run the show, but some of those salaries are outragious.
Just sayin'!

so many non-profits have CEO's making outrageous salaries!!! and some of their spending---that people generous donate too---is very questionable...people should always look into what group they are donating too.....

i agree re: the burial industry...it's basically one big corporation that has taken over the industry and changed laws, etc....it's difficult to even get cremated w/o being embalmed first in some states! what would be the point?? oh yeah, they need to make more money....death is big business and i remember when LIFE magazine still published their magazine they did an article about a family who actually buried their own kin who had passed of natural causes---he had pre-approved it....they had to go through mountains of red tape and if LIFE mag hadn't have helped them they wouldn't have been able to do it, even though their was legal loopholes that would allow it....the family said that whereas it was very very difficult to do---preparing their loved ones body, putting it in the casket, burying him---it actually helped them grieve and they weren't so detached from the process....look at how a 100+ years ago, death was handled by families....now you HAVE to have this, you have to have that and the industry has ensured it's required by law....
