I found those chairs on the curb with a free sign on them. They wouldn't fit in my trunk but I managed to wedge both of them in the backseat. They got stuck and it took me a couple of days to get them out. I know...genius, right? It became like one of those wooden puzzles. I don't know where I'll use them. Maybe they want to be lawn chairs?

Those are awesome! What a find! As far as getting them stuck..if you got them in then you can get them out, heehee. What goes up, must come down, what goes in, must come out, eventually. You'll find a place for them. Too good to pass up.
beautiful chairs would get wet in wunter though
Good find. I find that type of chair very comfortable to sit in. With my crazy back, I am more comfortable in a straight back chair with arms.
I brought them in. Still thinking on it. :) Maybe Lis wants one in her penthouse.
Looks great! Would be a cinch to paint & recover if you wanted to do that sometime. Those are pretty cool chairs. Gawd, they'd be so cute painted crayon colors and a neutral fabric. OR, you could use different, complimentary prints on the seats and backs. Lots of possibilities here!!! Fun project!

The back comes off with screws. Maybe this winter Lis can help recover them in zebra print and hot pink paint for her room. She's CRAZY about animal prints. I can't stand them, but, she thinks it's hot. She needs a new tv watchin' chair too. She out grew the kiddie chair and now is using an old hassock. It has to be light so I can move it out the way when she's not here. Free is good.
That sounds really cute!
Awesome score! You can do so much with them. I'd paint them a glossy fun color and get playful graphic vintage fabric.
Getting them trapped in the car sounds like something only I would do!

It was humiliating. I drive a Focus. I can't believe I got them in there..but, they were FREE! :)
what a score, I bet they are really comfortable. I Luvs some free stuff. just scored a nearly new double mattress to use as a spare bed when guests visit. It's like brand new. My mum jokes that I will take anything, which I do, my loft is packed with stuff that I "might" want at a later date. I have boxes & boxes of linen, curtains, throws, towels & table lace too. I just can't throw it out if it is good quality.
Awesome. Some people balk at a free mattress, but, motel mattress's are all used, right? What's the diff? I know how to spot the signs of bed bugs and have never had them.
I like 50's linen. I use it too. I only buy the ones I really like because it's still easily found here. No wonder you and I get along.
Lia, I don't worry about ruining stuff in the weather if it's not precious to me. They would have just gone to the dump anyway.
The Zebra/hot pink combo sounds really cute!
Love those chairs! Can't wait for the 'after' pictures.
These are beautifully simple, like good Danish Modern pieces. I would love to see them reupholstered in vintage bark cloth. Classic design.
