The dog who was abandoned on a mountain goes to...the rescuer. Good. That's how it should have gone. For once there's some justice for a helpless creature who trusted an owner who betrayed that trust. The owner was charged with cruelty and abandonment and gave the dog to the rescuer as part of a plea deal. The dog will have a good home and I'm sure the new owner won't make her walk miles in a rock pile and leave her bleeding and injured in a storm. Hopefully, she'll be laying by a warm fire with a big chew bone this Winter.

She would have never left her master, abandoned. Never. Dogs don't abandon. This makes me cry. Dogs are the best people I ever met.

The original owner needs to be jailed. The final owner has a place in Heaven. God bless the doggie.
Yes, BEST story to start the day!
YES!!!! JUSTICE!!!!!
Yay! Such a great ending to this story.
Yay for the pup. A new home with an owner who cares!
There's a brilliant charity called Dogs Trust in Dublin whose cameras recently captured some worthless bastard throwing his little dog over the charity's 8-foot fence before climbing back into his Merc and driving away, all while the dog looked on in distress, presumably wondering why his master was leaving without him. The video is here: http://www.independent.ie/national-news/camera-catches-callous-driver-dumping-dog-over-pound-fence-3228847.html
Do people not realise that animals can feel pain and fear and abandonment? How would these callous pet-owners feel if they were just left somewhere and forgotten about? We don't have the death penalty in Ireland, but sometimes, just sometimes...
HOORAY! The world isn't entirely fucked after all!
Anita...Things like that video does make me happy in a weird way. There's no telling what horrors might have happened if he had stayed with the owner. At least now we know the dog has a chance at a good life. That exact thing happened around here not too long ago.
And look how cute and happy that puppy looks getting a piggy back ride! Cheers for the good guy!
Thanks for letting us know about this. I have been wondering.
It amazes me the number of assholes in this country who abandon or abuse their pets. Drop the whole damn bunch of them in the middle of the desert & let them try to find their way out.
