Fancy Pants

I forgot to show you Niki's new do. Casey J forgot her clippers so she did it with scissors. He actually enjoyed it. I think she should do it that way from now on.

Looking good! What a little cutie.

He can be very sweet, but, he also thinks he runs the show and me. He gets in trouble all the time for it. He hasn't been in trouble today and it's 10am already. That has to be a record.

There's that sweet little face. Now he can see all the better to get into more 'trouble.' Love his ding dang cuteness!

His teeny feet are so cute. Man, he's a pill though. Click, click, click behind me everywhere I go. It drives me crazy.

ps..my poor chair. It got a potted plant spilled on it and it won't clean. I guess I have to recover it. Sad, because I love that chintzy 50's fabric.

He's so cute! I just want to curl up with him and cuddle. He would definitely run the show in my house too.

he so reminds me of my little man. i used to cut him myself with scissors boy what a job! so much fur. later i made enough money to send him to the very trendy local clippers called "pet art". cool name.

Dear DD,

If you can get a hold of some Resolve Pet and Odor Stain remover and add 2 cap-fulls of it into a bowl of hot water, you may be able to clean that vintage fabric by sponging it. I can always send you some Soil Love stain remover, too. It smells like grape bubble gum and is kind to older fabrics. I use it to hand wash my vintage clothing.

Niki is too cute for words. How is he doing with Chloie?

And while you are talking about cleaning, I have some old embroidered and crocheted pieces (from my mom)that had been packed away for a long while. I know she wouldn't have put them away with stains, but it seems like there are some rust looking stains on some of the pieces. Does anyone know how to get these stains out?

Dear Jane,

To remove rust and other discolorations from vintage textiles, try Carbona or Wink and follow directions on container. If not mix salt and lemon juice, apply and air in the sun, then wash off the application in hot water ~ all three contain or create hydrochloric acid which will remove the offensive stain but WILL weaken the textile fibers so be kind when applying. Oxi Clean is too harsh for vintage and antique fabrics, in my opinion. Good luck!

I will try the salt and lemon. I don't remember seeing Wink in a long time and I don't know if I've ever even seen Carbona. I don't believe these are rusts stains, it just looks like it. What would cause that look in things that, like I said, I'm sure were put up clean? This is a mystery to me.
