She picked her own outfit, I think she looks nice. She loves New York because I love New York. She's never been there, she got that shirt at a yard sale. She told me she had trouble falling asleep last night and I asked, do you know why? No. Well, it's because you went to bed an hour early for being smart mouthed to your grandma. Her mouth fell open. I said, do you know you went to bed an hour early the night before for talking when your teacher was talking? She threw a mini hissy and said that was so unfair and I said, do you want to try for three nights? No? Okay then. She became the nice cheerful child I know she can be. She even packed her own lunch and remembered her AR book and homework. On the way to the car, I asked, so, did you learn anything? She said, "Oh yeah! I learned to look at the clock when YOU say it's bedtime!!"

She kills me. The other night we were making one of those braided T shirts and I said, I wouldn't wear this to a dog fight. She pops back, "Ohhhh, I plan on going to a lot of dog fights this year." I cracked up. There's no leash law in her town.
I see a fashion designer or a stand-up comedian (or both!) in your future. x0
