Yard sale score today

Does anyone out there know what this bag might be called so I can look it up. I found it at a yard sale this morning for one dollar. I figured it was a fake..but, when I got it home, I looked it over and now I'm convinced it's real. The stitching is perfect, so is the Gucci logo which adds, made in Italy. The hardware is high end and it has a matching cell phone case all done inside with brown satin. It has never been used and came with the dust bag also marked Gucci. Pretty good yard sale find, eh? Too fancy for my ass, that's for sure, but, it's a cute little bag. I wonder what it originally sold for? Anyone know?

I've looked several places for this style. So far no luck. Maybe someone else will find it?

BTW ... great find, especially for $1! I did find out that style would be listed under 'satchels'.

Satchels, good clue. Thanks. I was looking at used Gucci on eBay and holy wow. $$

i looked on the gucci website then ebay for 'tan gucci bag cell phone' and got like 752 auctions to go through and nada.....it sounds like the real deal though from your description and is probably an older model (do you call purses models? i am purse clueless)..... awesome deal!!!

I started looking at all types of Gucci's on ebay. It could be under cosmetic bags & there was another type (sorry, can't remember). I just started looking at all of them. Go on google images & enter "Gucci Pochette handbags". That seems to be the shape of your bag, except I'm not seeing any with two straps.

this doesn't have the logo, but i thought the style looked similar?? is the cell phone thing attached??

I just looked under Google, Gucci, and found a retailer. Too many listed, but lowest price of the pocketbook type, sans cell phone carrier, was $650. Most in your look alike range were 1100-2300 dollars. I'm a dollar type person and last paid 40 for a 60 dollar bag. I only use one purse at a time. My sister's husband went to check the price of one at a store at Christmas a couple of years ago and it was nearly $3000. He didn't buy it.

You guys helped a lot. Thank you. Now I have a place to start looking. Gucci made so many bags! I looked on eBay and wow. Who the hell pays a grand for a used bag???

Casey, it's about the size you like to carry. Do you want it? It came from an estate sale, they had so much stuff. I don't think they knew what it was. It was in with a pile of semi-good purses all in consevative old lady style. Except this one. Yay me.

Good deal! And like a good momma and hand it over! LOL...its really cute. Its dressy but that would go with anything! Dayum...carry that baby Logo-out!! $1? That cracks me UP!~
Go have it appraised, just for fun! Of course that would cost you unless you know somebody???

i think it's styled like the craft tote....i would look at older models of craft totes on ebay, as the shape/handles are the same.....

CJ said...

The craft totes are big... this purse looks small.

Pat, what is the size of the purse?

Anonymous said...

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure it's fake(I don't think Gucci stamps the exterior of their bags like that) It looks like a knockoff of their "Bardot" design

Miss Tia said...

the craft totes i saw on the gucci site didn't look that big...the one i saw with the handles like this one didn't look huge anyway.....and i did see some (not that style) with the exterior stamped like that...i think it's an older model.....

Anon, I thought that too, but, I found front stamped bags at the Gucci site. Also in vintage, but, it was more scripty back then. The print loggo seems to have gone through transformations.

Send a picture to Gucci's customer service department and ask about it. I had a question a while back about a Ferragamo jacket on eBay and I called the Ferragamo store - the customer service rep was lovely and VERY informative and helpful. If it's authentic, you might be able to re-sell it for a thousand times what you paid for it on eBay. Worth a shot.

This is weird coincidence. Tuesday my work is a sponsor for an event called Totes for Tat Tas. It's to raise funds for breast cancer and it's a huge action and sale of new and gently used purses, handbags and wallets. Food and drink lots of pink decor. You get the picture anyway it is a fabulous place to get a great place to get cheap designer and just nice purses. This looks like a fantastic find.
There are lots of woman with handbag weakness even rich ones.

I like it. I'll take it if you don't want it. Even if its not real.

Next time you come home, check it out and decide. I have enough bags to last a lifetime. I can tell you it hangs well. It's made right. It's about the size you usually favor.

Noelle, that sounds like a great day actually.
