I came across that Terra Trellis on the net and my first thought was, hay ring! I had this idea when I couldn't find a trellis for my grapes here in town. Go to the farm store and check out hay rings.
Of course, the hay ring is a continuous circle, but, my thought was, if I bury the bottom in the ground, it would be perfect. You could add a simple concrete base in case of high wind, but, it would be really sturdy. That's a small hay ring there. In a big one, there would be plenty of room to walk under it, even if you buried some of it. I once got a rusty enourmous one for dang near free from a farm auction. The guy even hauled it cheap for me. I had horses then. If I had thought of this use, I would have tried to keep it. No offense to the Terra Trellis people, but, a hay ring is less than half the price of a 'modern sculpture' You could paint it any color you like. Farm supply stores are the bomb. I just saw a goat trough in ours that would make an excellent fountain (for the one I want to make) and it was only $14 bucks.
